Just a few weeks out from the release of her fourth rerecorded album 1989 (Taylor\u2019s Version)<\/em> \u2014 which drops on October 27 \u2014 Swift, 33, is doing what she does best: leaving Easter eggs for fans to decode. This time, she\u2019s paired up with Google for a word puzzle game that will seemingly help uncover the titles of the record\u2019s five vault tracks<\/a> \u2014 the bonus songs that never made the final cut of the original album.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting Saturday, September 16, a closed blue vault began popping up when googling Swift\u2019s name. Clicking on the vault brings up scattered letters in a word jumble accompanied by a hint to help solve the puzzle. At first, the only clue was, \u201cMy name is Taylor and I was born in\u2026,\u201d with \u201c1989 Taylor\u2019s Version<\/em>\u201d being the answer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Beginning on Tuesday, September 19, however, the puzzles began to expand. The hint \u201cBlank Space\u201d leads to \u201cNice to meet you,\u201d while other answers include \u201cGot a haircut,\u201d \u201cShe lost him,\u201d \u201cLove,\u201d \u201cGolf Club, \u201cPen Click\u201d and \u201cSummer Fling.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The pop star \u2014 who is notorious for dropping cryptic messages in her liner notes, music videos and social media posts \u2014 seems to have left several clues that 1989 (Taylor\u2019s Version) will be the next album she\u2019ll release. In May 2022, the singer-songwriter [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to Google,\u00a0 there are a total of 89 puzzles to get through<\/a> \u2014 because Swift was born in 1989, get it? \u2014 and the vault titles won\u2019t be released until 33 million puzzles are solved.<\/span><\/p>\n

Swift herself took to social media earlier on Tuesday to tease fans about the Easter eggs. \u201cYou can tell me when the *search* is over \u2026 if the high was worth the pain,\u201d she quipped via Instagram, referencing the 1989<\/em> single \u201cBlank Space.\u201d The post also included a video of the same blue vault releasing five jumbled letters and symbols that include L, S, U, T, an exclamation point and a period.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While Swifties are usually lightning quick to solve Swift\u2019s riddles \u2014 her latest challenge seems to be stumping them more than usual, with fans sharing their impatience via social media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMe checking Taylor Swift google page every single minute just to see \u2018check back soon\u2019 while trying to open the vault,\u201d one person commented via X (formerly known as Twitter) alongside a photo of a woman trying to open a safe with a knife and hammer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSwifties typing Taylor Swift into google every 30 seconds trying to get the 1989 TV<\/em> vault puzzles to work,\u201d another captioned a video of someone typing furiously on their laptop.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Swift announced the release of 1989 (Taylor\u2019s Version)<\/em><\/a> on August 9 at her final Eras Tour<\/em> concert in Los Angeles. The singer sported the album\u2019s signature color blue throughout the show before revealing the rerecorded album will drop in October.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI figured that [this tour] would be fun but I did not know it would be like this. The last time I was pleasantly surprised by something you guys did was when I announced that I was going to be rerecording my first six albums,\u201d she told the crowd at the time. \u201cAnd so now here we are, the last night of the U.S. leg of the<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Eras Tour<\/em> in the eighth month of the year on the ninth day. Swift later reflected on what 1989<\/em> means to her as an artist \u2014 and revealed there would be five never-before-heard songs on Taylor\u2019s Version<\/em>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fans began theorizing that 1989 (Taylor\u2019s Version)<\/em> was coming long before she ever announced it, particularly with the release of \u201cWildest Dreams (Taylor\u2019s Version)\u201d which dropped in March 2021. \u201cThis Love (Taylor\u2019s Version)\u201d was later used for seasons 1 and 2 of Prime Video\u2019s The Summer I Turned Pretty<\/em><\/a>, which premiered in June 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Swift released the original 1989 \u2014 a critically acclaimed record that marked her official debut into pop and first collaboration with producer Jack Antonoff<\/strong> <\/a>\u2014 in October 2014, earning her second Album of the Year Grammy in 2016.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
