Josephine Langford<\/strong>\u2018s star is on the rise following the success of the After<\/em> movies \u2014 and The Other Zoey<\/em> is her newest project making headlines.<\/p>\n

The rom-com follows college student Zoey (Langford) as she navigates dating following a case of mistaken identity. She begins to reconsider her stance on love when another student confuses<\/a> her for his girlfriend, also named Zoey.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Other Zoey<\/em> is one of Langford\u2019s many projects after her breakthrough role in the After<\/em> film franchise. Since bringing Tessa Young to life, the actress has gone on to appear in Moxie<\/em> and Gigi & Nate<\/em>. She also scored roles on the small screen in Day by Day<\/em> and Into the Dark<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The After<\/em> movies, which are based on a series of books written by Anna Todd<\/strong><\/a>, explores the tumultuous relationship between Tessa and her mysterious fellow college student Hardin (Hero Fiennes<\/strong>). The story centers on the couple\u2019s complicated love story<\/a> and follows them well into adulthood.<\/p>\n

Sometimes the general audience doesn\u2019t even recognize the switch in actors, but diehard fans definitely notice. Langford recently made headlines when she was noticeably missing<\/a> from the final film, After Everything<\/em>, which was released in September 2023. Her character appeared largely in flashback format using existing footage of Langford.<\/a><\/p>\n

Even before fans started to question Langford\u2019s absence<\/a>, she noted that she wasn\u2019t sure about her plans to return.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would want to come back if it was important, and it made sense,\u201d she explained to StyleCaster in September 2021. \u201cI\u2019m not a fan of overstaying your welcome. It can sometimes dampen a good thing if you\u2019re creating something and it\u2019s canon, and it doesn\u2019t have a reason. According to the synopsis, Zoey is a college student who ends up in an unexpected predicament when her popular classmate Zach (Drew Starkey<\/strong><\/a>) gets amnesia and mistakes Zoey as his girlfriend. Zoey isn\u2019t able to clear up the situation and promptly ends up in a love triangle when she meets Zach\u2019s cousin, Miles (Archie Renaux<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n
