Drew Barrymore<\/a><\/strong>, who drew criticism for taping new episodes of her daytime talk show despite the ongoing writers\u2019 and actors\u2019 strikes, now says she\u2019ll wait until the labor issues are resolved<\/a>. Hours later, another CBS talk show, The Talk<\/strong><\/em>, also decided to delay its return.<\/p>\n \u201cI have listened to everyone, and I am making the decision to pause the show\u2019s premiere until the strike is over,\u201d Barrymore posted on Instagram on Sunday (Sep. 17, 2023). \u201cI have no words to express my deepest apologies to anyone I have hurt and, of course, to our incredible team who works on the show and has made it what it is today. We really tried to find our way forward. And I truly hope for a resolution for the entire industry very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n The actor and host\u2019s initial decision to return The Drew Barrymore Show<\/strong><\/em> to the air on Monday 18 September \u2013 without her three union writers and with picketers outside her studio \u2013 was met with pushback on social media. Her CBS show resumed taping in New York last week and was picketed by striking writers.<\/p>\n \u201cWe support Drew\u2019s decision to pause the show\u2019s return and understand how complex and difficult this process has been for her,\u201d said a CBS Media Ventures spokesperson.<\/p>\n
