After Chris Evans<\/strong><\/a> said goodbye to Captain America, it was time for a change \u2014 a dark, villainous change.<\/p>\n \u201cIt does seem that I\u2019ve aggressively gone 180 [degrees] from Steve Rogers,\u201d Evans admitted to Empire<\/em><\/a> in May 2022. \u201cBut it just kind of unfolded that way.\u201d<\/p>\n Cap was the epitome of a good guy. From risking his life for others long before he became a super soldier to time traveling to save the world, Steve would do whatever it took to do the right thing. However, after playing Captain America for a decade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, Evans hung up his shield<\/a> in 2019\u2019s Avengers: Endgame<\/em>.<\/p>\n His first post-Marvel role came in the star-studded mystery Knives Out<\/em><\/a>. He called his character \u201cdifferent\u201d while speaking with The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> ahead of the film\u2019s release. \u201cIn the Marvel movies I play a guy who\u2019s a little more taciturn, a little more selfless, and in this movie I play a guy that\u2019s a little more vile,\u201d Evans teased.<\/p>\n Scroll down to take a look at all the bad guys Evans has played on the big screen since his Marvel exit.<\/p>\n Ransom is the black sheep of the Drysdale family. After his wealthy grandfather suddenly dies, Ransom just wants to ensure that he gets his inheritance. But don\u2019t let the cable-knit sweaters<\/a> fool you. He\u2019ll do anything to make sure he receives his \u201cbirthright\u201d \u2014 as long as that doesn\u2019t include working an actual job.<\/p>\n Evans was begging to play the spoiled brat. \u201cI don\u2019t even think I let him speak,\u201d Evans said of his initial meeting with Johnson. \u201cI think I just kind of was babbling the entire time about what I wanted to do with the role and what I thought I could bring and please cast me, basically. It was just kind of me just pitching him, just begging.\u201d<\/p>\n This Netflix film saw Evans reunite with Marvel directors Anthony Russo<\/strong> and Joe Russo<\/strong>, who joked via X (then known as Twitter) that they \u201cturned @ChrisEvans from America\u2019s Ass to America\u2019s A\u2014\u2013e.\u201d<\/p>\n Evans donned a mustache while playing this hit man, who is determined to take out Ryan Gosling<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Sierra Six. They used to be CIA agents together \u2014 until Hansen developed psychopathic tendencies and got kicked out. He takes a child hostage to get the upper hand and kills anyone and everyone who gets in his way.<\/p>\n During a press conference to promote The Gray Man<\/em>, Evans admitted he had a great time depicting the baddie. \u201cPlaying a villain is always a little more fun. You have a little bit more freedom, you get a lot more jokes,\u201d he said via ScreenRant<\/a>.<\/p>\n Evans plays a flashy pharmaceutical sales rep in this Netflix movie, which is loosely based on a true story. \u201cCasting Chris Evans for that was a delight because his clean-cut, alpha male, heroic demeanor is completely turned on its head when you cast him as a sleazebag pharma sales rep,\u201d director David Yates<\/strong> told Netflix\u2019s Tudum<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019d seen him do a couple of things that really surprised me previously. I love seeing an actor do something surprising.\u201d<\/p>\n Pete swoops into Liza Drake\u2019s (Emily Blunt<\/strong><\/a>) life right when she\u2019s hanging on by a thread. After losing her job and with her daughter\u2019s medical expenses piling up, she takes the opportunity to join Pete\u2019s dangerous racketeering scheme.
