Lindsey Shaw<\/strong><\/a> was previously hospitalized on multiple 5150 psychiatric holds after overdosing on a combination of drugs and alcohol<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t leave [the facility],\u201d the Pretty Little Liars<\/a> <\/i>alum, 34, said during the Wednesday, September 13, episode of her \u201cNed\u2019s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide\u201d<\/a> podcast without mentioning when the incident occurred. \u201cSo, I overdosed. I remembered feeling so cold and I was, like, scrolling through my phone on my couch and trying to be like, \u2018Who can I call?\u2019 I went through my phone three times and there was nobody that I wanted to reach out to [or] wanted to call.<\/p>\n

Shaw explained that she had been taking Adderall pills \u201call day\u201d in between drinking tequila \u201cfrom the bottle.\u201d She added: \u201cI poured my Xanax prescription<\/a> out in my hand, plus, like, a few extra pills that I had, like, combined bottles for, and I just went [and poured them all in my mouth].\u201d<\/p>\n

Shaw then \u201cblacked out for two days\u201d and \u201cI guess\u201d went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles to have her stomach pumped. \u201cAnd then when I woke up \u2014 on a bed face-down \u2014 in a mental facility<\/a>,\u201d she recalled. \u201cThe first thing I did was get up, like, \u2018Where the f\u2014k [am I?]\u2019 And I go to the doors, and just like a cartoon, two orderlies [grabbed me by each arm] and walked me back in there and I was like, \u2018Holy s\u2014t, I have to stay here.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSeveral of Hollywood\u2019s biggest stars have been candid about their sobriety journeys over the years. Kelly Osbourne, who previously talked about being sober for six years, revealed in April 2021 that she had suffered a relapse and was working on next steps. \u201cNot proud of it. But I am back on track,\u201d she wrote via [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Shaw further explained that she \u201chad to convince the doctor that she was OK\u201d in order to leave the facility after the mandatory three-hold was up. Six months later, \u201cit happened\u201d to the actress again.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got my dog taken away<\/a> for three months, like put in the pound, like \u2026 I got f\u2014ked and it was because I was drinking, like, in public and the cops came up on me and were arresting me for that,\u201d Shaw claimed. \u201cBut I said, \u2018God, f\u2014king take me,\u2019 and so they were like, \u2018That\u2019s more of a suicide thing than you going to jail.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

While Shaw confessed that she \u201ccalmed down\u201d when the police officers dropped her off at the mental facility, she still received a shot of Ativan and Benadryl. \u201cBefore I\u2019m even out of cuffs, I remember I start falling onto the bed,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m asleep for a day and a half. They also thought I was a problem when I came in [because] I was talking to these cops about what else they wanted to do \u2026 by the time my episode was over.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shaw explained that she was \u201cquarantined\u201d in a room by herself, even claiming that she was not given a \u201ctray for my food.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFrom 2010 to 2017, viewers tuned in to see what twists and turns awaited Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario), Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell), Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson) and Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale) after their mutual friend Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) went missing and threw her remaining friends\u2019 lives into a tailspin. The trouble began when a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI remember them telling me, \u2018You tested positive for methamphetamine\u2019 and \u2018You can leave,\u2019\u201d she said on the podcast, which she cohosts with her Ned\u2019s Declassified School Survival Guide<\/i><\/a> costars Devon Werkheiser<\/strong><\/a> and Daniel Curtis Lee<\/strong>. \u201cSo, that was wild, dude. The first time was insane because \u2026 reading back hospital reports, [you see] your stomach being pumped but you have no idea. Like, you\u2019re gone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Werkheiser and Lee, both 32, were stunned by her admission. Werkheiser, who previously dated Shaw<\/a> after Ned\u2019s Declassified<\/i> wrapped, also opened up about their final interactions prior to her overdose.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome of the times [I\u2019d] see you, I could just feel the f\u2014king pain and the chaos,\u201d he remembered on Wednesday\u2019s episode. \u201cAnd still, there\u2019s my friend Lindsey, who I f\u2014king love and I just want so many good things for, but f\u2014k, there\u2019s nothing I [could] do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shaw noted that, at the time, she barely registered she was speaking with a \u201cconcerned\u201d Werkheiser because she was \u201cjust trying to get by.\u201d Her overdose and first 5150 hold occurred one week later after their meet-up.<\/p>\n

Shaw, who has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder<\/a>, previously revealed that her addiction struggles coincided with her years on Pretty Little Liars<\/i>. She has claimed that she was let go from the ABC Family (now Freeform) mystery series while she dealt with drug and body image issues<\/a> behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I had my drug problem and I was in between working on stuff, you know, I would never have to address my relationship with food because I was always like, \u2018Oh, I could always just go get more Adderall,\u2019\u201d she said during a July episode of the podcast, noting show creator I. Marlene King<\/strong> <\/a>did not fire her for her acting ability.<\/p>\n

\u201c[I. Marlene was] like, \u2018But do you have anybody to talk to?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Um, no.\u2019 And she\u2019s like, \u2018We\u2019ll find somebody, and we have to let you go for now,\u2019\u201d Shaw said at the time, remembering their HR conversation. \u201cIt was really sweet because they brought me back<\/a> in season 7, and it was so lovely of that writing team to see that relationship and that character out. But I was \u2014 that was rough.\u201d<\/p>\n
