Valve says that HDR can be enabled if you have a compatible display while VRR can be enabled if you have a compatible USB-C adapter. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">The company has also changed the Steam Deck\u2019s default color rendering to \u201cemulate the sRGB color gamut,\u201d which Valve says will result in \u201ca slightly warmer and more vibrant color appearance.\u201d If you don\u2019t like the change, or want to try one of your own, Valve has also added settings that let you tweak the display\u2019s color vibrancy and color temperature.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">There are some welcome changes that aren\u2019t related to display settings, too. The update includes \u201cupdated graphics drivers, with many performance and functionality improvements.\u201d Valve says the update brings \u201cimproved performance for <em>Starfield<\/em>;\u201d Bethesda\u2019s excellent space RPG isn\u2019t verified for Steam Deck, but that hasn\u2019t stopped people from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/SteamDeck\/comments\/1665qb9\/starfield_game_settings_for_steam_deck_megathread\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">playing the game on the handheld gaming PC anyway<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">Valve also promises that the new update adds \u201cslightly improved sleep resume speed.\u201d Every second helps!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">And for Linux desktop mode users of the Steam Deck, the underlying Arch Linux has been updated, complete with a new version of the Plasma desktop interface with an updated Discover app store, widgets, and a new window tiling system. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">The BIOS also has \u201cvoltage offset settings\u201d now, which we take to mean you can more easily undervolt or overclock the Steam Deck but we\u2019ll have to check to be sure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">If you want to try the SteamOS 3.5 preview, go to Settings &gt; System &gt; System Update Channel &gt; Preview.
