Melissa Etheridge<\/strong><\/a> is not just coming to the window, she\u2019s coming to Broadway!<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like something you\u2019ve never seen me do before ever,\u201d Etheridge, 62, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/i> of her production while attending the American Theatre Wing<\/a> 2023 Fall Gala on Monday, September 11. \u201cIt\u2019s my life story, it\u2019s music, it\u2019s spirit, it\u2019s love [and] it\u2019s visual.\u201d<\/p>\n

She gushed: \u201cIt\u2019s a dream come true<\/a>!\u201d<\/p>\n

Etheridge announced in June that she was Broadway-bound for a brief run. \u201cMelissa is happy to announce that her acclaimed theatrical event Melissa Etheridge: My Window<\/i> is coming to Broadway for a strictly limited engagement,\u201d a post on her Instagram<\/a> account read. \u201cMelissa Etheridge: My Window<\/i> is an intimate experience like never before, inviting theatergoers into an exhilarating evening of storytelling and music. From tales of her childhood<\/a> in Kansas to her groundbreaking career highlights \u2013 with all of life\u2019s hits and deep cuts between \u2013 Etheridge opens her heart and soul on stage to fearlessly dazzle audiences of all generations.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Etheridge \u2014 who attended that American Theatre Wing benefit<\/a> with her wife, Linda Wallem<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 prepared to debut her original show on the Great White Way, she\u2019s told Us <\/i>that she\u2019s learned plenty of new lessons along the way.<\/p>\n

\u201cBroadway\u2019s really hard work,\u201d the musician said on Monday. \u201c[These] people put some hours in and they\u2019re some of the best of the best here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The production \u2014 named after her hit 1993 song \u201cCome to My Window\u201d \u2014 premiered off-Broadway in 2022 at New York City\u2019s New World Stages. Melissa Etheridge: My Window <\/i>includes performances of Etheridge\u2019s biggest hits in between anecdotes of her life\u2019s ups and downs.<\/p>\n

Etheridge also wrote the show alongside Wallem, whom she married in 2014.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cMy wife and I have been working on this for years,\u201d she previously told TheaterMania<\/a> in October 2022. \u201cWe have been working on different ways to come to Broadway because we both have a theater background that we love. Our careers took different turns, hers in television and mine in music, but we just love Broadway<\/a>. So when this finally lined up last year we said, \u2018Hey, we can do this!\u2019 We jumped right in.\u201d<\/p>\n
