Craig Conover<\/strong><\/a> didn\u2019t expect Lindsay Hubbard<\/strong><\/a> and Carl Radke<\/strong><\/a> to last forever \u2014 but he was still \u201cvery surprised\u201d they didn\u2019t walk down the aisle.<\/p>\n

\u201cI at least thought they would get married and then whatever happened, happened, but also whenever everyone gets to see the season, it\u2019ll make a lot more sense,\u201d the Southern Charm<\/em><\/a> star, 34, told Page Six<\/em><\/a> on Wednesday, September 13. \u201cFor two months, we had all dealt with this. It\u2019s not like they had a great summer and all of the sudden this happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conover \u2014 who makes crossover appearances on Summer House<\/em> <\/a>alongside star Paige DeSorbo<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 noted that he had \u201cgreat conversations\u201d with Hubbard, 37, and Radke<\/a>, 38, before news broke about their split. \u201cObviously, the end result without any context at all was going to be tough for people to wrap their heads around,\u201d he added. \u201cI think it\u2019ll make more sense with more context, that\u2019s all.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reality star also recalled the moment he found out that Radke and Hubbard were over<\/a>, adding, \u201cI was coming back from the US Open, and I got the text message and I was like, \u2018Oh my God!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

When the series premiered on Bravo in January 2017, Hubbard and Radke were part of the OG cast of Summer House and have since returned for every season. Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed late last month that Radke and Hubbard called it quits while filming season 8 of Summer House<\/em>.<\/a> \u201cLindsay was 100 percent blindsided by the engagement being called off, but it was a long time coming for Carl,\u201d an insider exclusively told Us<\/em> at the time. \u201cHe wasn\u2019t in this relationship emotionally for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n

Days after their breakup made headlines, Radke sent out a message to his and Hubbard\u2019s wedding guests<\/a> to officially confirm the news.<\/p>\n

\u201cWords cannot possibly express how difficult the last two weeks have been for Lindsay and I,\u201d he wrote in a letter to attendees, which circulated on social media on Monday, September 11. \u201cWe are so incredibly sorry to all of our guests for the confusion and lack of communication. We were left trying to figure out how this all exactly happened before we could even have the opportunity to determine the path forward amongst ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n
