Dear Food52ers,<\/p>\n

After seven years crammed into a rabbit warren of offices in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, we moved our headquarters to the Brooklyn Navy Yard this spring. Working with our good friends Brad Sherman and Nina Etnier at Float Studio<\/a>, who have designed all of our previous offices, we set out to create a space that focused on our core team and community needs: gathering, creating, and entertaining. It took us three years (and heroic project management by our office operations director Karen Levi!) to build out a slew of test kitchens, studios, and work and huddle spaces that are both deeply functional and welcoming\u2014a place that feels like home.<\/p>\n

Now that we\u2019ve settled in, I\u2019m excited to show it to you! In our newest episode of Founder Files<\/em>, I take you on a tour through our light-filled floor at Dock72, which is well-stocked with everything from vintage Dansk tableware to whisks and saut\u00e9 pans to cozy sofas. We\u2019ve created a cheat sheet to the appliances, furniture, and fixtures that I selected to outfit our new space. \nBertazonni<\/a> Appliances<\/h3>\n

The family-run Italian brand Bertazonni<\/a> is the test kitchen\u2019s oven, cooktop and dishwasher maker of choice. Their Double Electric Convection Wall Ovens<\/a>, Microwave Speed Ovens<\/a>, and Gas Burner Cooktops<\/a> power all of our recipe development and testing. You\u2019ll also find their refrigerator in our team kitchen alongside the same appliances.<\/p>\n
