Along the way, the boat ran into some mechanical problems.<\/p>\n
Paul\u2019s traveling companion apparently left him alone. Which \u2026 sounds deeply unnerving. It sounds like the premise to a horror movie.<\/p>\nJust a couple of weeks before his August 2023 apparent disappearance in Brazil, Paul Staehle was still sharing videos from his time in the country. Growing nervous, he began reaching out to various people for help. Thus the alarming messages that he sent to people, including his mother.<\/p>\n
Eventually, though, his friend returned and fixed the boat. They resumed their journey \u2026 as if he hadn\u2019t just sent out messages that he was stuck out in the Amazon.<\/p>\nOn Thursday, August 31, Karine Martins wrote \u201cPaul went missing last night in Brazil. Prayers he is found safe.\u201d She shared this to her Instagram Story. (Instagram)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nMeanwhile, Paul being Paul, he didn\u2019t have a phone charger or backup power supply, as one would normally take into the wilderness.<\/p>\n
(There are solar powered chargers for phones. Not always practical for everyday use, but they exist)<\/p>\n
The floating house didn\u2019t have a charger for him, either. So Paul was unable to communicate with anyone during this time.<\/p>\nMany 90 Day Fiance viewers felt that they understood Paul Staehle slightly more after seeing his interactions with his mom, Mary. (TLC)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nDuring this time, both Paul\u2019s mother, Mary, and his ex, Karine, felt an understandable sense of alarm.<\/p>\n
Look at it this way: if I messaged my mom that I was alone in the wilderness, texted \u201cI f\u2013ked up\u201d to her, then went radio silent \u2026 she\u2019d also be in a panic. Mary\u2019s concern was understandable.<\/p>\n
So was Karine\u2019s. Though her in memoriam<\/em> style tribute post to Paul and the ensuing post about life insurance seemed \u2026 premature.<\/p>\nGood news can wait, but bad news is seldom so patient. According to Karine Martins\u2019 Instagram post on Friday, September 1, 2023, she and her two sons will fondly remember Paul Staehle. The implication was that she did not believe that he would ever come back alive. (Instagram)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nNow, Paul is denying that this was a publicity stunt.<\/p>\n
In fact, he seems to regret that any part of this story got out. He somehow feels shocked that his mother panicked after he vanished.<\/p>\n
He didn\u2019t expect his mom to worry when he became stranded and then didn\u2019t respond to texts?
