While Joe Jonas<\/strong><\/a> and Sophie Turner<\/strong><\/a> have called it quits, their whirlwind romance will live on in the Jonas Brothers<\/a> song \u201cHesitate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe, 34, along with brothers Nick Jonas<\/strong><\/a> and Kevin Jonas<\/strong><\/a>, dropped the track in 2019 as one of the many songs on their comeback album Happiness Begins<\/em>. In an April 2019 interview with Billboard<\/a>, Nick, 30, described the ballad as Joe\u2019s \u201clove letter\u201d to Turner, 27.<\/p>\n

One month later, Joe got candid about the song and its special meaning during an interview with Apple Music.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s one of those love letters that you write to your partner saying, \u2018I\u2019ll be there no matter what,’\u201d he gushed at the time.<\/p>\n

In the band\u2019s 2020 documentary, Chasing Happiness<\/em>, Joe opened up about the song he penned and how Turner served as the inspiration.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Hesitate\u2019 is a song I wrote. It\u2019s like my vows before I wrote my vows. It\u2019s my promise to [my wife] Sophie,\u201d he explained to the camera. \u201cI can see in the audience when it\u2019s definitely those other people\u2019s songs. I see couples holding each other. I see somebody [and] that song got them through something.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cFor me, it takes me to a whole different universe. I\u2019m seeing her walk down the aisle again every time I close my eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the track, Joe sings about wanting to help his wife navigate life through any obstacles they face, promising to always remain by her side.<\/p>\n

\u201cKiss the tears right off your face \/ Won\u2019t get scared, that\u2019s the old, old, old me \/ I\u2019ll be there time and place \/ Lay it on me, all you\u2019re hold, hold, holding \/ Time, time only heals if we work through it now \/ And I promise we\u2019ll figure this out,\u201d Joe sings in the song\u2019s opening verse.<\/p>\n

As the ballad reaches its chorus, Joe vows to help Turner no matter what she\u2019s going through \u2014 as she once did for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will take your pain \/ And put it on my heart \/ I won\u2019t hesitate \/ Just tell me where to start \/ I thank the oceans for giving me you \/ You saved me once, and now I\u2019ll save you too \/ I won\u2019t hesitate for you,\u201d he croons.<\/p>\n
