Priscilla Presley\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> marriage to the late Elvis Presley <\/a>has made headlines throughout the years \u2014 especially when it comes to their significant age gap.<\/p>\n Priscilla met Elvis in Germany when he was on a tour of duty for the United States Army. The two instantly had a connection, but Priscilla\u2019s family wasn\u2019t keen on her dating the musician since she was only 14 at the time.<\/p>\n \u201cMy parents were really beside themselves,\u201d she told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> in August 2023. \u201cI basically threatened them and told them, \u2018If you don\u2019t let me go [marry him], I\u2019ll find my way.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n After eight years of dating, the duo tied the knot in May 1967 in Las Vegas and welcomed daughter Lisa Marie<\/a> less than one year later.<\/p>\n The pair were married for six years before they divorced in 1973. So you really kind of lost yourself. \u2026 I did not divorce him because I didn\u2019t love him \u2014 he was the love of my life, truly. If anything, I left because I needed to find out what the world was like.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI was always ready to greet him at the door and pamper him,\u201d Priscilla shared with People<\/em><\/a> in September 2021. \u201cI loved taking care of Elvis very much. I loved tending to him.
