Despite regularly playing characters on the edge of mental breakdowns in films including \u2018Nightcrawler\u2019 and \u2018Zodiac\u2019, the actor, 42, thinks he could get even more emotional on camera if he starred in a movie made by his 45-year-old actress and filmmaker sibling Maggie Gyllenhaal<\/a>. <\/p>\n

He told People magazine: \u201cI would adore to be directed by my sister. She sees me for all of my stuff, and she can bring that out in me. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think I would show her vulnerability, probably, that I haven\u2019t been able to do onscreen and otherwise because I trust her and I love her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jake also told in the chat how he thinks \u201clistening and being open\u201d are key to a happy relationship. <\/p>\n

\nHe has been dating French model Jeanne Cadieu, 27, for the last five years, and said: \u201cIt\u2019s all about growing together and listening and being open. It\u2019s really not much different from any relationship when it works.\u201d <\/p>\n

\nJake and Jeanne have made a determined effort to keep their relationship private, and don\u2019t see any reason to change. <\/p>\n

\nThe actor went on: \u201cIt\u2019s no secret that I’m in a relationship and it\u2019s a wonderful relationship. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cWe are private, but I guess we are who we are. We\u2019re just living our lives. We always have. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cAnd I love that people are interested, but at the same time, it\u2019s like what\u2019s ours is ours.\u201d <\/p>\n

\nEarlier this year Jake opened up about his lockdown experience, revealing that he \u201cmade a lot of sourdough bread\u201d amid the pandemic. <\/p>\n

\nHe lived next door to fellow Hollywood star Jamie Lee Curtis, 64, during lockdown, and she revealed that they helped each other through the health crisis. <\/p>\n

\nThe actress, who is Jake\u2019s godmother, told People: \u201cWe\u2019ve just gotten to know each other. He also lived with me during Covid for almost a year. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cHe and Jeanne lived in the house next door that I have.\u201d <\/p>\n

\nJake said he\u2019s continued to bake post-lockdown, adding: \u201cI am still eating sourdough. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cYes. I haven\u2019t stopped. Even though we\u2019re out of the pandemic, I am still making sourdough.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
