Controversies are nothing new for Big Brother<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The show has been criticized for racism and discrimination over the years, making major waves with an incident that occurred in season 15. During the 2013 season, Aaryn Gries<\/strong> referred to Asian people as \u201csquinty-eyed,\u201d called her Black roommate Candice Stewart<\/strong> \u201cAunt Jemima\u201d and asked her Korean housemate\u00a0Helen Kim<\/strong>\u00a0to \u201cgo make some rice.\u201d<\/p>\n

GinaMarie Zimmerman<\/strong> and Spencer Clawson<\/strong> were also accused of insensitive comments during the season, so much so that host Julie Chen Moonves<\/strong><\/a> spoke about it on The Talk<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI took it personally,\u201d the host said at the time. The really sad part was it took me back to the \u201970s when I was growing up in Queens, when I was 7, being bullied \u2026 Then I felt ignorant. There are still people who feel that way? Yes, there is.\u201d<\/p>\n
