Though Air France<\/a> first introduced its Premium Economy product under the name Premium Voyageur in 2009, it hasn’t changed much since then and is known as the first fixed shell seat<\/a> in a premium economy cabin.<\/p>\n

Fourteen years later, this controversial seat is what you’ll find in premium economy on most Air France international flights, including all wide-body Air France aircraft, such as the Boeing 777<\/a> and Boeing 787<\/a> and Airbus A330<\/a> and A350<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When I decided to go to a wedding in Greece<\/a> in July, Air France<\/a> was one of the more affordable options for a last-minute booking, and the ticket was still over $2,000 round-trip. I booked from Chicago<\/a> O’Hare International Airport (ORD)<\/a> to Athens International Airport (ATH) with a layover at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I was curious to see how this fixed shell seat would work for an overnight flight compared with other premium economy products I’ve flown.<\/p>\n

Aboard my first-ever Air France flight, I anticipated a more comfortable journey, but would it be worth the price?<\/p>\n
