\u201cHe lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.\u201d<\/p>\n
Now, meanwhile, we can confirm that Buffett died.<\/p>\n
Courtesy of an obituary posted to Buffett\u2019s website, we know that the star passed away from from Merkel cell skin cancer<\/strong> \u2014 which he had been diagnosed with four years ago. <\/p>\n (Instagram)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nMerkel cell carcinoma is a rare, aggressive skin cancer that often begins as \u201cred, shiny nodules on the face, hands and neck,\u201d according to the MD Anderson Cancer Center.<\/p>\n
Buffett had been open in the past about his health struggles.<\/p>\n
\u201cGrowing old is not for sissies, I promise you,\u201d Buffett said after being forced to cancel a May concert in Boston, adding at the time:<\/p>\n
\u201dI also will promise you, that when I am well enough to perform, that is what I\u2019ll be doing in the land of She-Crab soup.<\/p>\n

He also collaborated with Alan Jackson for \u201cIt\u2019s Five O\u2019Clock Somewhere,\u201d a track many fans still reference any time they feel like having a drink during morning or afternoon hours.<\/p>\n
After news of Buffett\u2019s death was announced, a number famous friends remembered him with moving tributes shared on social media.<\/p>\n

In lieu of flowers, Buffett\u2019s family is asking fans to instead make donations to Jimmy Buffett\u2019s Foundation Singing for Change, Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute or the MD Anderson Cancer Center.<\/p>\n
