Microsoft updated its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2018\/7\/12\/17563704\/microsoft-windows-notepad-app-update\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Windows Notepad app in 2018<\/a> for the first time in years and went on to add tabs to the Windows 11 version.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">WordPad hasn\u2019t had the same amount of attention, though. The word processor was updated with Windows 7\u2019s Ribbon UI, but after a slight Windows 8 redesign it hasn\u2019t had any major additions.
