\u2018Star Wars\u2019 and \u2018Harry Potter\u2019 director Jamie Christopher has died aged 52.<\/p>\n

\u2018Star Wars\u2019 and \u2018Harry Potter\u2019 director Jamie Christopher has died aged 52<\/p>\n

The filmmaker and producer is said to have passed away at his Los Angeles home from heart complications, Deadline reported.<\/p>\n

He is being hailed by a string of fellow movie makers for his work as first assistant director on all eight of the \u2018Harry Potter\u2019 movies, as well as a string of \u2018Star Wars\u2019 and Marvel films.<\/p>\n

Marvel studio bosses Kevin Feige<\/a> and Louis D\u2019Esposito said in a joint statement: \u201cWe are incredibly saddened by Jamie\u2019s passing. He has been a part of the Marvel Studios team for over a decade, and on productions like \u2018Guardians of the Galaxy\u2019, \u2018Avengers: Age of Ultron\u2019, \u2018Black Widow\u2019 and more.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a calm presence behind the camera, and a wonderful, supportive crew member on set.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cJamie first joined Marvel Studios as an AD on \u2018Thor: The Dark World\u2019 and because of his hard work and diligence was upped to an Executive Producer on \u2018Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness\u2019 and the upcoming \u2018Fantastic Four\u2019.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cJamie was a beloved member of our Marvel Studios family, and he will be dearly missed. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nJamie is survived by his wife, Carly, their child, Killeon, as well as his three children from an earlier marriage \u2013 Stella, Teddy and Phoebe.<\/p>\n

\nBorn in Britain, the director followed in the footsteps of his production manager dad Malcolm J Christopher.<\/p>\n

\nHis mum Penny was also in showbiz, working as a production coordinator.<\/p>\n

\nJamie started a production runner on \u2018Frederick Forsyth Presents\u2019 in 1989 and later landed the third assistant director job on \u2018Alien 3\u2019.<\/p>\n

\nHe was then made second assistant director on \u2018The Mummy\u2019, \u2018The Mummy Returns\u2019, \u2018Golden Eye\u2019 and \u2018The Fifth Element\u2019, before becoming first assistant director on \u2018Harry Potter and the Sorcerer\u2019s Stone\u2019 in 2001 \u2013 remaining with the franchise for all its installments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
