{"id":34979,"date":"2023-08-30T10:02:21","date_gmt":"2023-08-30T10:02:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/entertainment.runfyers.com\/index.php\/2023\/08\/30\/meghan-duchess-of-sussex-thanks-maimed-troops-for-service-as-she-hails-importance-of-family\/"},"modified":"2023-08-30T10:02:21","modified_gmt":"2023-08-30T10:02:21","slug":"meghan-duchess-of-sussex-thanks-maimed-troops-for-service-as-she-hails-importance-of-family","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entertainment.runfyers.com\/index.php\/2023\/08\/30\/meghan-duchess-of-sussex-thanks-maimed-troops-for-service-as-she-hails-importance-of-family\/","title":{"rendered":"Meghan, Duchess of Sussex thanks maimed troops for service as she hails importance of family"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"byline\">\n<time itemprop=\"datePublished\" content=\"2023-08-30\" datetime=\"1693389741\" pubdate=\"\">30 August 2023<\/time>\n<\/p>\n<p>Meghan, Duchess of Sussex has thanked injured soldiers for their service.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"image-caption landscape\">Meghan, Duchess of Sussex has thanked injured soldiers for their service<\/p>\n<p>The 42-year-old is seen opening the Invictus Games in the Netherlands in a new Netflix documentary titled \u2018Heart of Invictus\u2019, which explores the lives of injured servicemen ahead of taking part in the games, which were founded by her ex-soldier husband <a href=\"https:\/\/www.femalefirst.co.uk\/prince-harry\/\" class=\"exposure-link \" data-linktrack=\"LinkTracker,articleExposure,prince-harry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince Harry<\/a>, 38.<\/p>\n<p>In the fourth episode of the series she says: \u201cThank you so much for your service and thank you to all the family and friends who are here supporting you along the way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause this is service, this is dedication and this is the Invictus family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The show aired from 8am on Wednesday (30.08.23) \u2013 after Harry surprised veterans at the premiere.<\/p>\n<p>\nIn one episode Harry also speaks of the importance of family and how he felt he didn\u2019t get support from his own after the death of his mum Princess Diana.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe royals also revealed on the show chats Harry has had with his son Archie, four, about what he wants to be when he grows up.<\/p>\n<p>\nHarry, who also has daughter Lilibet, two, with Meghan, said: \u201c&#8221;When I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, some days it\u2019s an astronaut, other days it\u2019s a pilot.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cBut what I remind him is no matter what you want to be when you grow up, it\u2019s your character that matters most.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cAnd nothing would make his mum and me prouder than to see him have the character of what we see before us today \u2013 you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\nThe Invictus Games was launched by Harry in 2014 and the next contest is set to be held next month in Dusseldorf, Germany.<\/p>\n<p>\nHe and Meghan inked their Netflix deal in 2020, but the release of their latest offering on the streamer comes after the Sussexes have already seen several business ventures pulled.<\/p>\n<p>\nMeghan\u2019s Archetypes podcast was dropped by Spotify, sparking rumours sparked that she didn\u2019t interview her own guests after one thanked a producer for being an \u201cexcellent interviewer\u201d instead of Meghan herself.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.femalefirst.co.uk\/celebrity\/meghan-duchess-sussex-thanks-maimed-troops-service-hails-importance-family-1384516.html?f=rss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>30 August 2023 Meghan, Duchess of Sussex has thanked injured soldiers for their service.
