The 66-year-old \u2018Family Feud\u2019 host also denied he would send such a statement as his brand is \u201call about positivity\u201d. <\/p>\n
He said in a video message posted to X, formerly known as Twitter until it was rebranded by its 52-year-old owner Elon Musk: \u201cSomebody that works for me on my Twitter put a statement out that was totally negative. <\/p>\n
\u201cI gotta take responsibility for it \u2019cause they work for me, but the engagement was talking about, \u2018Name a comedian you don\u2019t think is funny.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy would I do something like that? That don\u2019t even make no damn sense.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe also insisted his \u201cwhole brand is to be motivational\u201d, adding: \u201cYou don\u2019t know where these young people at in they career, man. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThey could be coming up or anything. I\u2019m all about positivity. I would\u2019ve never done nothing like that.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nSteve, who said he stopped a fishing trip to share his apology, said the X message from 19 August \u2013 which has been deleted after being viewed more than one million times \u2013 left him \u201cp*****\u201d off. <\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI\u2019m so p***** off right now, man. Talking about, \u2018I was trying to get some engagement.\u2019 <\/p>\n
\n\u201cOkay\u2026 you trying to get some employment, too. My bad, y\u2019all. Now I gotta come on here and doing a damn selfie. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo here it is: I\u2019m sorry. My bad, y\u2019all. Won\u2019t happen again, though.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nIt is not known if the employee who posted the X message still works for the actor. <\/p>\n
\nBut fans have filled the comments section of his X account with pleas to keep them on, with one urging: \u201cDon\u2019t fire them Steve, just hold them accountable and let it be a teaching tool. Especially, if they have never done anything like that before.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
