The man who rushed the stage at a New York City panel event featuring\u00a0Drew Barrymore<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0Monday (Aug. 21, 2023) was arrested today after being detained Thursday (Aug. 24, 2023) near the star\u2019s home in Southampton, Long Island.<\/p>\n The arrest of\u00a0Chad Busto<\/strong>\u00a0was confirmed by Southampton Chief of Police James Kiernan, who said additional details on the incident will be forthcoming<\/p>\n During the original incident<\/a>, security guards were able to hold the man back. He yelled: \u201cYou know who I am. I need to see you at some point while you\u2019re in New York.\u201d<\/p>\n Before being rushed off the stage with singer Renee Rapp<\/strong>, Drew acknowledged the man and said: \u201cOh my god, yes? Hi!\u201d The neighborhood he was reportedly \u2018going door-to-door\u2019 at was in Southhampton. Luckily, Drew was apparently not home while he was there, the New York Post reported.<\/p>\n The publication said that the man was wandering the neighborhood searching for Drew\u2019s estate. He allegedly \u201cwalked onto some steps outside.\u201d Law enforcement told TMZ<\/a> there was an \u201congoing investigation\u201d into the situation.<\/p>\n This alleged stalking situation comes immediately following Drew opening up about her struggles with her mother.
