A hole-in-one type of love! Rickie Fowler<\/strong> slid into now-wife Allison Stokke<\/strong>\u2019s DMs<\/a> before they started dating.<\/p>\n \u201cI reached out to her on social media. It seemed like she was the kind of person that would fit with<\/a> who I am,\u201d the professional golfer told Rocket Mortgage<\/a> in an April 2019 YouTube interview. \u201c[She\u2019s] very genuine, obviously beautiful and someone that I felt would be fun to be around.\u201d<\/p>\n Fowler, long known in golf circles for his single status<\/a>, debuted his romance with the former gymnast via Instagram in April 2017 after they were spotted together at the Moto GP Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas.<\/p>\n \u201cI won!\u201d the professional athlete captioned<\/a> his social media snap, in which the twosome were all smiles in front of a step-and-repeat from the event.<\/p>\n Stokke, for her part, posted a selfie<\/a> of the pair from their seats. \u201cWe tied?\u201d she wrote at the time.<\/p>\n After one year of dating, the California native popped the question ahead of the annual U.S. Open<\/a> golf tournament.<\/p>\n \u201cRickie, Justin Thomas<\/strong>, and I flew up to Southampton, [New York] a few days early for the U.S. Open,\u201d Stokke recalled to\u00a0Vogue\u00a0<\/i><\/a>in October 2019 of her love\u2019s proposal. \u201cAt the end of the day, we were the only people on one of the beaches, and Rickie asked Justin to take a picture of us. After a couple of photos, I looked over and Rickie was down on one knee with a big smile on his face.\u201d<\/p>\n The couple was interested in a destination wedding<\/a>, opting to tie the knot in front of only 48 guests in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve always looked forward to that moment walking down the aisle,\u201d the pole vaulter gushed to\u00a0Vogue<\/i>\u00a0of their\u00a0October 2019 nuptials.\u00a0\u201cIt was pretty incredible to see him out there smiling and all of our close friends and family looking back. \u2026 It was an amazing night!\u201d<\/p>\n The fitness model, who quickly became a staple at her husband\u2019s competitions<\/a>, announced in June 2021 that she was pregnant with their first child<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cComing in November\u2026 @rickiefowler might find himself a little outnumbered,\u201d Stokke wrote via Instagram<\/a> that June, teasing they were expecting a baby girl.<\/p>\n Fowler was equally excited about their growing family. \u201cI was excited. She was excited, obviously,\u201d he gushed to PGATour.com<\/a> at the time. \u201cI was kind of waiting to be able to share with people, and then that\u2019s kind of when it starts to become real. So we\u2019ve been able to share it with friends and family a little earlier and then started to share with more people and now everyone knows.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cIt\u2019s at that point where it\u2019s pretty cool and pretty special. I think a lot of it early on was just making sure things were going smoothly, making sure Allison was healthy, feeling good, making sure the baby was healthy.
