Anne Hathaway<\/strong><\/a>, Amy Adams<\/strong><\/a> and Audrey Hepburn<\/a> may not be royalty in real-life, but you\u2019d never know it based on some of their most famous film roles.<\/p>\n All three ladies made waves as fictional versions of famous royal figures throughout history: Hathaway proved herself plenty regal with princess roles such as Ella in Ella Enchanted<\/em> and Mia Thermopolis in The<\/em> Princess Diaries<\/em>; while Adams fought for love with Prince Edward (James Marsden<\/strong><\/a>) in Enchanted<\/em>. As for the Breakfast at Tiffany\u2019s<\/em> beauty, she showed off the less glamorous side of royal life as Europe\u2019s own Princess Anne in Roman Holiday<\/em>.<\/p>\n Hathaway\u2019s turn as Princess Mia was so popular that the original film spawned a sequel, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement<\/em>, in 2004. Since then, fans have clamored for a third movie, and the Oscar winner has said there\u2019s a script. Even if it never debuts, the Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/em> star still appreciates the work she got to do on the first two.<\/p>\n \u201cGetting to make it and be on set every day, I got to hug Julie Andrews<\/strong><\/a> every day,\u201d she told Jess Cagle<\/strong> in January 2019. \u201cThat part was also very, very, very magical. From Naomi Watts<\/strong><\/a>, who channeled the late Princess Diana<\/a> in 2013\u2019s Diana<\/em>, to Nicole Kidman<\/strong><\/a>, who all but became the movie star-turned-royal Grace Kelly<\/a> in 2014\u2019s Grace of Monaco<\/em>, plenty of Hollywood\u2019s leading ladies have reigned on high as actual members of monarchies.<\/p>\n A-listers including Lily Collins<\/strong><\/a> and Emma Watson<\/strong><\/a> also lived the princess fantasy in their respective royal films, stepping into the shoes of famous Disney stars such as Snow White (Mirror Mirror<\/em>) and Belle (Beauty and the Beast<\/em>), while more still served as heroic leaders of fictional space republics (the late Carrie Fisher<\/a>).<\/p>\n Though Fisher later joked about how much she hated the wigs she wore as Leia, she expressed her admiration for the character, who has been an inspiration to kids everywhere since her 1977 debut. \u201cI like how she handles things. I like how she treats people,\u201d the Shockaholic<\/em> author said during a November 2016 interview with NPR<\/a>. \u201cShe tells the truth.
