Although it\u2019s been years since Pamela Anderson<\/strong><\/a> and Tommy Lee<\/strong> were a couple, the former Baywatch<\/em> actress and the M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce drummer\u2019s relationship is a big part of pop culture history. There, the couple filmed their now-infamous sex tape.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had taken a five-day houseboat trip on Lake Mead as a vacation,\u201d Tommy explained, according to Esquire<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAs usual, I brought along my video camera. We weren\u2019t trying to make a porno, just to document our vacation. We watched it once when we returned home, then put it in our safe, a 500-pound monstrosity, hidden underneath a carpet in my studio control room in the garage.\u201d<\/p>\n The tape in question was 54 minutes long and contained eight minutes of the couple being intimate. It was allegedly stolen by Rand Gauthier<\/strong>, an electrician who had been working on the couple\u2019s Malibu property renovation. The tape was said to be copied and distributed in VHS form and later fell into the hands of Penthouse\u00a0<\/em>magazine who reported on its content in graphic detail. Though the magazine did not publish stills of the video, illustrations accompanied Penthouse<\/em>\u2018s reporting. Pamela and Tommy later took Penthouse\u00a0<\/em>to court, though their case was dismissed by a federal district court judge in Los Angeles<\/a> who argued that the illustrations in question were part of a \u201cnewsworthy\u201d story.<\/p>\n Pamela will discuss the tape in her forthcoming memoir, Love, Pamela<\/em>, which is set to release on January 31, 2023. In an excerpt of the book first published by\u00a0People<\/em><\/a>, the\u00a0Baywatch\u00a0<\/em>actress writes that the tape \u2013 that she refuses to watch to this day \u2013 \u201cruined lives,\u201d beginning with her relationship with Tommy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s unforgivable that people, still to this day, think they can profit from such a terrible experience, let alone a crime,\u201d Pamela writes in her memoir.<\/p>\n In 1998, Pamela filed for divorce after she and Tommy got into an allegedly violent argument at their home. The father of two, who shares sons Brandon Thomas and Dylan Jagger with the Canada native, was arrested and sentenced to six months in jail after he pleaded no contest to felony spousal battery.<\/p>\n Reflecting on the last stages of their marriage in her new memoir, Pamela writes that the couple\u2019s \u201chell began\u201d that night. \u201cThe divorce from Tommy was the hardest, lowest, most difficult point of my life. I was crushed. I still couldn\u2019t believe that the person I loved the most was capable of what had happened that night,\u201d she writes in Love, Pamela<\/em>. \u201cWe were both devastated, but I had to protect my babies.\u201d<\/p>\n Pamela and Tommy later tried to rekindle their relationship in 2001 and again, in 2008.
