Sisters are doing it for themselves! Sister Wives<\/em> star Gwendlyn Brown<\/strong><\/a> opened up about Janelle Brown\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> newfound independence \u2014 and credited mom Christine Brown<\/strong><\/a> with being part of her inspiration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n During her Thursday, January 19, recap of the latest Sister Wives<\/em> episode<\/a> \u2014 season 17 episode 5, which aired on Sunday, January 15 \u2014 a fan asked the 21-year-old her opinion on what sparked Janelle, 53, to be a \u201cmore independent\u201d woman following her split from ex Kody Brown<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI think that she was encouraged by my mom who has also since the first season become a lot more empowered,\u201d Gwendlyn, who is the daughter of Christine, 50, and Kody, 54<\/a>, replied. \u201cAnd they just seem to have encouraged each other to be more strong and independent and confident in themselves.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Christine publicly announced her split\u00a0from Kody \u2014 with whom she shares six children, Gwendlyn, Aspen<\/strong>, 27, Mykelti<\/strong>, 26, Paedon<\/strong>, 24, Ysabe<\/strong>l, 19, and Truely<\/strong>, 12<\/a> \u2014 <\/span>in November 2021. Janelle, for her part, revealed in December 2022 that she and the Wyoming native had been \u201cseparated for months.\u201d (The estranged couple are also proud parents to six kids: Logan<\/strong>, 28, Maddie<\/strong>, 27, Hunter<\/strong>, 25, Garrison<\/strong>, 24, Gabriel<\/strong>, 21 and Savanah<\/strong>, 18.<\/a>)<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not waiting for him. I\u2019ve kind of mourned that that part of our life is gone,\u201d Janelle said during part 3 of the\u00a0Sister Wives: One-on-On<\/em><\/span>e<\/em>special, which aired earlier this month. \u201cI wasn\u2019t heartbroken. It wasn\u2019t heartbreaking for me like it was for Christine.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Christine, meanwhile, supported the real estate\u2019s split from the polygamist, telling viewers at the time:<\/span>\u201cFor Janelle, I think that she\u2019s frustrated, and she\u2019s so hurt. And that man that she was married to \u2014 she realizes that he\u2019s totally different. But she\u2019s different too.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Now that they\u2019re single, Gwendlyn shared her thoughts on Christine and Janelle making their own reality show \u2014 where they start dating each other.<\/span><\/p>\n
