Pamela Anderson<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s son Brandon Lee<\/strong> brought the untold story of her life to light after he produced Pamela: A Love Story<\/em>, released in January. Now, he\u2019s astonished by the film\u2019s positive \u201cimpact \u201d on his mother\u2019s life.<\/p>\n \u201cI wasn\u2019t necessarily out to make a film that made her look her best. I was just going to tell the truth,\u201d Brandon, whom Pamela shares with ex-husband Tommy Lee<\/strong><\/a>, said in an August 16 interview. \u201cPeople will come up to her and say things like, \u2018I used to not like you, I used to think you did all this stuff for fame and personal gain, but I like you. You\u2019re a real person.\u2019 To know that a film, telling a story, can have a real impact on someone\u2019s life, that\u2019s the real payoff.\u201d<\/p>\n The Netflix documentary was an instant hit and gave fans a deeper glimpse into Pamela\u2019s life beyond her party-filled life in the spotlight. Viewers learned about her past traumatic experiences in her life, including her infamous sex tape with Tommy<\/a> and occurrences from old journal entries.<\/p>\n \u201cHer life just got away from her, and she never had the opportunity to rein it back in \u2014 until now,\u201d Brandon, 27, explained, adding, \u200b\u201dLearning that she was a romantic and loved love<\/a> and was a risk taker and just a good person down to her core? That\u2019s the real stuff that just shines through.\u201d<\/p>\n Pamela: A Love Story<\/em> was so raw that it received two Emmy nominations for Best Documentary or Nonfiction Special and Best Documentary Music Composition. Brandon \u201ccouldn\u2019t believe\u201d the exciting news but admitted it \u201cwasn\u2019t his goal\u201d to be nominated for an award while working on the family project.<\/p>\n In fact, he produced the documentary to shed light on a \u201csmall-town girl who showed up in L.A. and got completely mistreated and misused and hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe isn\u2019t a creation. And now people know that she\u2019s just this nice, small-town girl who wants to relax with her dogs and hang out in her garden,\u201d he admitted.<\/p>\n Pamela, 56, had the full support of sons Brandon and Dylan Lee<\/strong><\/a> when the documentary was released, and they even accompanied their legendary mother on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere.<\/p>\n The film debuted 11 months after the hit Hulu show Pam & Tommy<\/em> \u200bwas released without Pamela\u2019s \u200bblessing or involvement. The scripted series showcased the rise and fall of the former Hollywood couple\u2019s marriage and primarily focused on the leak of their stolen sex tape. Pam and Tommy, 60, got married in 1995 and divorced three years later<\/a> after welcoming their sons.<\/p>\n While it was questionable as to why the Hulu show and Netflix documentary dropped within less than a year of each other, Brandon claimed they were in the \u201cprocess\u201d of Pamela: A Love Story<\/em> \u201cway before\u201d Pam & Tommy<\/em> came out.<\/p>\n \u201cBut that was tough for her. It\u2019s tough to watch your life and things that were traumatic in your own life being played out on TV for everyone to watch and laugh about. That\u2019s so painful. But when you\u2019re famous, your life becomes public domain,\u201d he explained. \u201cA judge basically deemed her \u2018public property.\u2019 But we got through it, just like we kind of get through everything. She\u2019s so tough and positive, and always looking toward the next good things, which is such a great aspect about her.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
