Shortly after he was indicted<\/a> by the Fulton County district attorney\u2019s office for trying to overturn the election in Georgia, Donald Trump<\/strong> took to Truth Social to make an announcement. \u201cA Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia is almost complete & will be presented by me at a major News Conference at 11:00 A.M. on Monday of next week in Bedminster, New Jersey,\u201d he wrote<\/a>. \u201cBased on the results of this CONCLUSIVE Report, all charges should be dropped against me & others – There will be a complete EXONERATION! They never went after those that Rigged the Election. They only went after those that fought to find the RIGGERS!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n This content can also be viewed on the site it originates<\/a> from.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n The announcement obviously raised a lot questions, such as: Why hadn\u2019t one of the many state and federal investigations into the 2020 election uncovered this \u201cIrrefutable\u201d evidence? Why had literally nothing come up in the last three years proving that Trump\u2019s claims of election fraud were actually legit? Why hadn\u2019t Trump mentioned that such a report was in the works, say, before he was criminally charged in Georgia, and why did he still need an additional week for the \u201cLarge, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT\u201d to be completed? One possible explanation is that he was simply planning to present a bunch of lies. Why do we think this might be the case? Because shortly after he broadcast his plans, ABC News reported<\/a> that legal advisers to Trump, who\u2019d undoubtedly had a collective coronary when they read his post, had \u201ctold him that holding such a press conference with dubious claims of voter fraud [would] only complicate his legal problems,\u201d with some of attorneys advising him to cancel it.<\/p>\n And while the ex-president has made it abundantly clear over the last several years that he listens to no one, it seems that what we can only assume was advice along the lines of \u201cThis is one of the worst ideas you\u2019ve ever had and will probably result in additional felony counts\u201d actually sunk in\u2014to a point.<\/p>\n We caveat that because while Trump said<\/a> on Thursday that he was canceling the Monday presser, he also claimed that he would be \u201cputting this, I believe, Irrefutable & Overwhelming evidence of Election Fraud & Irregularities in formal Legal Filings.\u201d (Will his lawyers go along with putting his election lies in official court filings? We\u2019ll just have to wait and see!)<\/p>\n In other Trump legal news, he\u2019d like to put off his federal trial for attempting to overturn the election until spring 2026.<\/em> Per Axios<\/a>:<\/p>\n Lawyers for\u00a0former President Trump\u00a0requested an April 2026 start date for the trial on his alleged efforts to\u00a0overturn the 2020 election, according to a Thursday court filing\u2026. The\u00a0filing\u00a0in the U.S. District Court in D.C. formally opposes [Jack] Smith<\/strong>\u2019s proposal for a trial start date of Jan. 2.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n Should Trump win the 2024 election, he\u2019d be more than a year into his second term in April 2026, at which point he could just pardon himself, a fact we\u2019re sure no one on Team Trump even considered when putting in its requested trial date. Meanwhile, the ex-president is expected<\/a> to be arraigned in Georgia next week, where Fulton County sheriff Pat Labat<\/strong> has previously suggested he will have his mug shot taken like a common criminal.
