Kid Rock<\/strong> has seemingly changed his tune when it comes to his beverage of choice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The rocker, 52, was spotted sipping on a cold Bud Light<\/a> while attending a Colt Ford concert in Nashville on Thursday, August 17, according to photos obtained by TMZ<\/a>. Rock looked relaxed as he drank the alcoholic refreshment and laughed with friends, who also enjoyed the blue-canned beer.<\/span> Rock went viral in April when he shared a video of himself shooting several cases of Bud Light in response to the brand rolling out a series of cans with pride colors to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.\u00a0<\/span> \u201cGrandpa\u2019s feeling a little frisky today. Let me say something to all you and be as clear and concise as possible,\u201d Rock said in the Twitter clip before taking aim at the beverages with a firearm. He then turned back to the camera, stating, \u201c F\u2014k Bud Light and f\u2014k [brewing company] Anheuser-Busch.\u201d<\/span> Two days prior to Rock\u2019s outburst, influencer Dylan Mulvaney<\/strong>, who is transgender<\/a>, appeared in sponsored post for Bud Light as part of the company\u2019s March Madness campaign. The ensuing backlash led to \u201cmore bullying and transphobia than I ever could\u2019ve imagined,\u201d she said in an Instagram video the following month.\u00a0<\/span> Weeks after Mulvaney\u2019s post \u2014 in which she promoted Bud Light\u2019s contest to win $15,000 \u2014 Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth<\/strong> issued a statement saying the company \u201cnever intended to be a part of a discussion that divides people.\u201d<\/span> \u201cAs the CEO of a company founded in America\u2019s heartland more than 165 years ago, I am responsible for ensuring every consumer feels proud of the beer we brew. We\u2019re honored to be part of the fabric of this country,\u201d Whitworth said, adding that instead of any division, \u201cwe are in the business of bringing people together over a beer.\u201d<\/span> Mulvaney, for her part, revealed no one from Anheuser-Busch reached out to her over the controversy despite the fact that she was receiving violent threats<\/a> from people. She also noted that \u201cfor a company to hire a trans person and then not publicly stand by them is worse, in my opinion, than not hiring a trans person at all.\u201d<\/span> \u201cThe hate doesn\u2019t end with me,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt has serious and grave consequences for the rest of our community.\u201d\u00a0<\/span> This wasn\u2019t the first time Rock has sparked controversy<\/a> over his conservative beliefs. The musician came under fire in March 2020 when his Nashville eatery, Kid Rock\u2019s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N\u2019 Roll Steakhouse, stayed open after Mayor John Cooper<\/strong> asked the city\u2019s bars and restaurants to close<\/a> as the Coronavirus pandemic exploded.
