Drew Barrymore<\/strong> and Corey Feldman<\/strong> reconnected on her talk show this week after not seeing each other in 25 years.<\/p>\n

The former couple had a little reunion on Wednesday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show<\/em><\/a>, during which they reminisced about how their young love first came to be. Recalling their history together, Barrymore said, \u201cWe partied, we didn’t party,\u201d to which Feldman rejoined good-naturedly, \u201cWe got sober together, we got un-sober together\u2026\u201d The Goonies<\/em> star went on to add that they \u201cwere literally kids\u201d when they first met, explaining that he was between 12 and 13 and the talk show host was just 10 or 11. Feldman also had to remind Barrymore that they were first put in touch by Steven Spielberg,<\/strong> who gave both child actors their big break and is also Barrymore’s godfather.<\/p>\n

Feldman recalled, \u201cWhat happened was, I got a call one day. My grandmother says, ‘We got a call from Steven [Spielberg]’s office, and the little girl from E.T.<\/em> wants to meet you because she’s got a crush on you.’\u201d This jogged Barrymore’s memory of their first date and she added, \u201cOh yeah, I did, the biggest. But everyone did!\u201d She added that her mom Jaid Barrymore<\/strong> then coordinated a \u201cplay date\u201d for the two of them. Feldman said, \u201cOf course, neither of us drove because I was still living at my grandparents’, and you were living with your mom,\u201d and Barrymore noted that they were also both \u201cyears away from getting our licenses.\u201d The actor continued, \u201cAnd it was so cute. I remember taking you to the movies, I remember exactly which movie theater it was. We walked across the street, and you put your little hand up for me to hold. And I held your hand, and we walked across the street.\u201d As Barrymore blushed, Feldman confessed with a laugh, \u201cI don’t remember what movie we saw, but I remember all that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair \u201cjust stayed friends\u201d following that first hangout, but a few years later they \u201cdated properly.\u201d Barrymore also shared that she tagged along with Feldman as his date to the Academy Awards in 1989 when he was 17 and she was just 14 years old. \u201cI remember you were going, and so, I was lucky enough to be your date,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I just threw on a cotton Betsey Johnson dress, off the rack. I don’t know how much it cost, probably $65. I remember getting there and I remember seeing people in such designer duds. And I remember looking around and thinking, ‘Oh, I’m very underdressed. I’m wearing a cotton Betsey Johnson dress. Whoops!’\u201d Feldman, on the other hand, she said \u201clooked so cool\u201d as she shared a \u201clegendary\u201d photo of the two of them from the event. \u201cI just thought we were having so much fun,\u201d she said and Feldman concurred, \u201cWe were such the great little, cute little item for the three months we lasted or whatever. But it was adorable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barrymore remembered, \u201cWe were so positive. You and I were such good friends. We had that kind of relationship where they say, \u2018Date your friend.\u2019 We were the embodiment of that. You were so kind, you were such a safe place for me.\u201d While for Feldman, he said that he felt like the Never Been Kissed<\/em> star was \u201calready getting your life together,\u201d while he was \u201cstill going through my troubles\u201d at the time. \u201cYou got sober first; you got your act together first. It took me a few years after you,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
