Bachelor Nation is getting a little bigger \u2014 Jesse Palmer<\/strong><\/a> and wife Emely Fardo<\/strong> are expecting their first baby.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been keeping a secret \u2026 our family is growing and our hearts are so full!\u201d Palmer, 44, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Friday, August 18. \u201cThis is a dream come true for us and we\u2019re so thrilled to be welcoming our baby girl in January 2024 \ud83c\udf80\ud83d\udc95.\u201d<\/p>\n Palmer and Fardo, 34, began dating in 2017 and got engaged two years later. The couple had plans to wed in Provence, France, in 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they opted to quietly wed later that year in Connecticut. In July 2022, Fardo revealed that she and Palmer were able to have their dream ceremony<\/a> in France.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd so this happened \u2026 I got to marry the love of my life AGAIN but this time in front of our immediate family,\u201d she penned via Instagram<\/a> at the time. \u201cIt was a dream come true and the most beautiful and emocional [sic] day of my life! I\u2019ll never forget it.\u201d<\/p>\n Palmer, who took over the hosting duties of the Bachelor<\/em> franchise after Chris Harrison<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s 2021 exit, got his start on reality TV as the season 5<\/a> lead for the ABC dating series in 2004. While he didn\u2019t find love on the show, he found The One with Fardo.<\/p>\n Before taking over for Harrison, 52, Palmer revealed that he didn\u2019t reach out<\/a> to the former host before stepping into the new role.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t talk to him, but part of that was me wanting to just really sort of do this and figure this out kind of my way, on my own,\u201d Palmer exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> in January 2022.<\/p>\n Palmer\u2019s first gig as The Bachelor<\/em> host was on Clayton Echard<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s season in 2022 \u2014 which he found trying to help the lead find love was the \u201cbiggest pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s the host\u2019s big job at the end of all,\u201d he explained to Us<\/em> at the time. \u201c\u2018Am I giving him the right advice when he asks for it? Am I giving him enough?\u2019 One thing I really wanted to be careful of, I just didn\u2019t wanna be overbearing. I didn\u2019t want to be like the old Bachelor who always would kind of pop his head in at the wrong time and go, you know, \u2018Clayton on my season, I would\u2019ve said this, you screwed that up, young whippersnapper! You need to go ahead and do it this way.\u2019 I didn\u2019t wanna be that guy.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Harrison opened up about his exit<\/a> from the series two years later and shared he thought Wells Adams<\/strong><\/a> should have been his predecessor. Palmer had no hard feelings for Harrison\u2019s opinion and expressed his well wishes<\/a> for him.<\/p>\n \u201c[I have] no reaction, really.
