Say it ain\u2019t so! Kaitlyn Bristowe<\/b><\/a> and Jason Tartick <\/b><\/a>shocked Bachelor Nation<\/a> fans when they officially split<\/a> earlier this month.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAfter sharing the news with family and close friends first, and taking the time to properly process it ourselves, we are saddened with heavy hearts to share that we have decided to end our engagement,\u201d they announced in a joint statement. \u201cIt\u2019s heartbreaking and sad to say \u2018goodbye,\u2019 but our care and admiration for one another will never die.\u201d So much so, the former Bachelor<\/i><\/a> contestant, 38, isn\u2019t ruling out a reconciliation with the 34-year-old banker at some point in the future.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe keep saying\u2026 that the door isn\u2019t permanently closed<\/a>,\u201d Kaitlyn hinted during an interview with a videographer. \u201cThat\u2019s why there\u2019s handles on it. \u2026 We don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on.\u201d<\/p>\n Though the reality TV<\/a> personality noted that it\u2019s been \u201ctough\u201d since their breakup, Kaitlyn acknowledged that the \u201ceasiest part is that [they] respect each other and love each other.\u201d Not only that, but as dog parents, the exes vowed to continue caring for Ramen and Pinot, as Kaitlyn mentioned they might be seen \u201cwalking the dogs together on a Sunday\u201d despite their split.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re still good,\u201d she concluded before explaining what they were planning to do with the engagement ring Jason gave her. \u201cWe haven\u2019t gotten that far to talk about [what to do with the] ring. But, I mean, he gave that to me. It\u2019s up to him.\u201d<\/p>\n Kaitlyn and Jason<\/a> first met in January 2019 and started dating<\/a> shortly afterward. In June of that year, they moved in together. Less than two years later, the ABC personalities announced their engagement in May 2021. Though the duo was in the process of planning their wedding<\/a>, the COVID-19 pandemic impacted their preparations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n By the summer of 2023, fans speculated that Kaitlyn and Jason hit a bump in the road along their relationship. After spending the 4th of July together, the pair stopped sharing pictures together to their respective Instagram pages. As more fans pointed out clues pointing to her and Jason\u2019s breakup, Kaitlyn made it clear that she wouldn\u2019t put up with incessant demands on social media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On August 2, Kaitlyn posted \u2014 then quickly deleted \u2014 a cryptic message to her Instagram Stories, seemingly slamming fans for constantly asking her about her and Jason\u2019s romance status.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI cannot believe the audacity of people to expect things from me when I haven\u2019t even been able to process things for myself,\u201d she wrote before taking down the message soon after she posted it. \u201cHave a f\u2014king heart. You\u2019re scaring me with your comments and demands. I\u2019m almost worried about YOU.\u201d<\/p>\n Less than a week later, Kaitlyn and Jason confirmed their split but kept their comments about each other positive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI will forever be grateful for this person that was brought into my life,\u201d Jason wrote<\/a> in an emotional Instagram tribute post for Kaitlyn on August 6, just hours after announcing their breakup. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n After Kaitlyn suggested that a reconciliation with Jason is possible, a source exclusively told Life & Style <\/i>that the pair\u2019s friends and family<\/a> \u201care all for them taking some time apart, but they\u2019d love them to get back together.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
