DIY repairs for the Google Pixel 7A just got a lot easier as famed right-to-repair-supporting website iFixit has added official parts<\/a> for Google\u2019s newest slab phone to its store. iFixit has been stocking genuine Google Pixel phone parts for over a year<\/a> after it made a deal with Google that followed a recent trend by phone makers<\/a> to improve the accessibility of OEM components.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n When we reviewed\u00a0Google\u2019s more affordable flagship<\/a>\u00a0in May, Allison Johnson called the Pixel 7A the best midrange Android phone for most people thanks to good build quality, a great camera, and an improved 90Hz OLED display.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Parts on sale at iFixit include a replacement digitizer screen ($109.99), rear plastic cover ($44.99), both rear camera modules, adhesive films for various tiny internal bits, a new battery ($39.99), and more. Many of the replacement parts come with a lifetime guarantee against manufacturer defects \u2014 perhaps it\u2019s obvious, but exceptions to that include the battery and various adhesive strips.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Unfortunately, besides the cameras and battery, iFixit isn\u2019t stocking other major internal components, so if your phone\u2019s logic board or storage goes kaput, you\u2019re out of luck there, at least if you want to go through iFixit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Fixing your own phone can be a daunting but educational and fun DIY challenge, depending on which one you own. iFixit issues repairability scores<\/a> to many of the most popular phones when publishing its guides, but unfortunately, the team there hasn\u2019t quite gotten around to the Pixel 7A \u2014 or any Pixel phone since the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro, which it gave respective scores of six and five out of 10.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
