Jessica Chastain<\/strong><\/a> and Sean Hayes<\/strong> <\/a>revealed their biggest \u201cnightmare\u201d \u2014 and admittedly \u201cgross\u201d \u2014 on stage moments of all time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI threw up [on stage]. I threw up and I swallowed it. And no one knew,\u201d Chastain, 46, said during the most recent episode of the \u201cSmartLess<\/a>\u201d podcast. \u201cFrom then on I was like, \u2018I\u2019m not eating within three hours of the show. I\u2019ll just drink water.\u2019 I don\u2019t know if I was nervous \u2014 I was kind of sobbing and I, like, leaned over and it happened. And I was like, \u2018Oh my God.\u2019 You can\u2019t let it out of your mouth.\u201d\u00a0<\/span> Chastain added that because there was no intermission, \u201cfor the rest of the show I couldn\u2019t tell anyone because I was on a chair facing the audience.\u201d That meant she couldn\u2019t even warn her costar before they shared an intimate smooch.\u00a0<\/span> \u201cI had to kiss someone! It was a nightmare and I couldn\u2019t explain,\u201d she told hosts Jason Bateman<\/strong><\/a>, Will Arnett<\/strong> <\/a>and Hayes, 53. \u201cAnd then the second we had the curtain call and the curtain came down, I said, \u2018You guys I am so sorry. I vomited.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/span> Chastain explained that while it was a \u201cclosed-mouth kiss\u201d that night, it was still a \u201csensual\u201d one. \u201cEven talking to someone I was just so [embarrassed],\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/span> After Chastain detailed her most uncomfortable Broadway moment, Hayes offered his own worst memory.\u00a0<\/span> \u201cIn [my] show [Good Night, Oscar<\/em>] I have to scream at Peter Gross. We get in a screaming match and we\u2019re literally nose to nose,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd one night, this was just a couple weeks ago, I don\u2019t know what happened but so much saliva came spewing from my mouth. It was all over his face.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He continued: \u201cAnd then that night he was so sweet about it. He goes. \u2018Hey, can I talk to you about that? \u2026 Is there any way you could just spit a little less when we argue?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Absolutely!\u2019 He was so sweet about it.\u201d\u00a0<\/span> The twosome may have nightmare stories to share, but both Hayes and Chastain have had an incredibly successful few years. In addition to \u201cSmartLess\u201d being one of the most listened-to podcasts, Hayes took home the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play in June<\/a>. Hayes stars as Oscar Levant in the Broadway play, which opened at the Belasco Theatre in April.\u00a0<\/span> Chastain, meanwhile, nabbed her own nomination for a 2023 Tony for her performance in A Doll\u2019s House<\/em>, which premiered at the Big Apple\u2019s Hudson Theatre in March and ran through June. She also won an Academy Award and Screen Actors Guild Award last year for her portrayal of country singer Tammy Wynette in the miniseries George & Tammy<\/em>.\u00a0<\/span> \u201cTo have the most incredible past couple of years \u2026 It\u2019s also been more of me producing the projects,\u201d Chastain told Vanity Fair<\/em><\/a> earlier this month. \u201cAs women get older in the industry, we need to become more active in producing projects in order for us to have a place here \u2014 because no one else will do it for us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n She added: \u201cI watched the industry for a long time before I had the opportunity of working in it, and I gathered a lot of information. It has changed quite a bit,\u201d Chastain said of how Hollywood has evolved in recent years. \u201cThe whole #MeToo culture, which I am appreciative of, the idea that there\u2019s now more resources for people who feel like they\u2019re in an unhealthy, abusive situation. \u201c<\/span> Now, Chastain is ready to slow down \u2014 and is considering taking on a slightly less emotionally taxing role.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe did 137 performances but [A Doll\u2019s House<\/em>] was pretty emotional. There was heavy crying for, like, an hour each show. It\u2019ll have another life next year but much shorter runs otherwise I\u2019ll lose my mind. \u2026 I just become so raw,\u201d Chastain quipped during her \u201cSmartLess\u201d podcast appearance. \u201cWhich is why I\u2019m looking forward to playing another<\/a> Zero Dark Thirty<\/em> character who really doesn\u2019t give a s\u2014t. She\u2019s just walking through. I need to play that next.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
