Explaining her preferences. Lucy Hale<\/strong><\/a> opened up about why she likes dating older men after her split from Skeet Ulrich<\/strong><\/a>, who is nearly 20 years her senior<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI haven\u2019t really had rules with dating,\u201d the Pretty Little Liars<\/em><\/a> alum, 33, explained earlier this month during an episode of Rachel Bilson<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s \u201cBroad Ideas\u201d podcast. \u201cI\u2019ve dated all the way up to 52 \u2014 [from] 27 to 52. I\u2019m 33 and I feel like I\u2019ll probably end up with someone around my age or older, just because of the non-negotiables. I feel like a lot of people in that older age bracket will meet those.\u201d<\/p>\n When the former O.C.<\/em> star, 41, asked what it was like to date a 52-year-old<\/a>, Hale didn\u2019t name names, but she said she had no complaints. \u201cHe was a young 52,\u201d the Katy Keene<\/em> alum explained. \u201cI loved it. No bulls\u2013t, almost.\u201d<\/p>\n The Fantasy Island<\/em> actress and the Scream<\/em> actor, 52, were briefly linked in 2021. \u201cLucy and Skeet have been dating for a little over a month now,\u201d an insider told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> in March of that year. \u201cWhile it\u2019s very new, they spend a lot of time together.\u201d At the time, the source noted that the duo\u2019s \u201chuge age gap\u201d didn\u2019t \u201cbother\u201d them.<\/p>\n One month later, however, Us<\/em> confirmed that the twosome had called it quits. \u201cIt was more of a trial run,\u201d an insider explained in April 2021<\/a>. \u201cThey wanted to see if they could be more than friends, but it didn\u2019t feel right.\u201d<\/p>\n While Hale\u2019s romance with Ulrich didn\u2019t work out, the Hating Game<\/em> star said she hasn\u2019t ruled out a relationship with an older guy<\/a> \u2014 and has her dating app age range set from 27 to 50. \u201cI end up saying no to a lot of the younger ones,\u201d Hale told the Hart of Dixie<\/em> alum, adding that older men don\u2019t play games. \u201cNo games is a panty dropper. \u2026 I was addicted to that chase for a while. But that\u2019s exhausting and we\u2019ve moved past that. No games.\u201d<\/p>\n In general, however, Hale noted that she finds dating \u201cboring\u201d because she hates small talk. \u201cI would rather not be around people or sit in silence,\u201d she declared. \u201cLet\u2019s talk about the real stuff. I\u2019ll immediately be like, \u2018Where do you think you go when you die?\u2019 I just immediately want to go to that place.\u201d<\/p>\n Before her split from Ulrich, Hale was linked to Colton Underwood<\/strong><\/a>, David Henrie<\/strong>, Chris Zylka<\/strong><\/a> and Ryan Rottman<\/strong>. The Riverdale<\/em> alum, for his part, was married to Georgina Cates<\/strong> \u2014 with whom he shares twins Naiia and Jakob, 21 \u2014 from 1997 to 2005. He was then married to Amelia Jackson-Gray<\/strong> from 2012 to 2015 and engaged to Rose Costa<\/strong> from 2016 to 2017.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
