Travis Scott<\/strong> <\/a>is hitting the road for the first time since the 2021 Astroworld tragedy that left 10\u00a0 attendees dead.\u00a0<\/span> \u201cUTOPIA TOUR SOON US AND EURO DATES SOON TO BE ANNOUNCE I MISS THE ROAD I MISSS YALLLL,\u201d Scott, 32, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Tuesday, August 8, alongside a poster that revealed the tour will be named the Utopia Presents Circus<\/em>.\u00a0<\/span> While the exact show dates have yet to be announced, the rapper plans to perform his Utopia<\/em> album \u2014 which dropped last month \u2014 in cities around North America including Boston, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Vancouver and more, according to Pitchfork<\/a>.<\/em> The outlet cited Chicago\u2019s United Center on Monday, September 25, as the first performance date, with the tour wrapping up on Monday, November 27, at Miami\u2019s Kaseya Center. (Tour dates were initially announced by Live Nation on Tuesday but the posts have since been deleted.)<\/span> News of the upcoming tour comes one day after his Monday, August 7, performance in Rome,\u00a0 where Scott performed songs from Utopia<\/em> for the first time and brought out Kanye West<\/strong> <\/a>for a performance of his hits \u201cCan\u2019t Tell Me Nothing\u201d and \u201cPraise God.\u201d Scott also paid tribute to West, 46, saying, \u201cThere is no Utopia without Kanye West.\u00a0 There is no Travis Scott without Kanye West. There is no Rome without Kanye West.\u201d\u00a0<\/span> Scott has performed at festivals and one-off concerts over the past few years, but the Utopia Presents Circus Tour<\/em> will mark his first major run of U.S. dates since the Astroworld Festival tragedy<\/a> in November 2021. Scott was performing in Houston, Texas, at\u00a0 NRG Park when the crowd surged toward the stage, creating a massive crush that, left 10 people dead and more than 100\u00a0 injured.\u00a0<\/span> \n Following the event, a source told Us Weekly<\/em> that the crowd surge \u201cwas from panic because people were running for safety.\u201d\u00a0<\/span> During the show, Scott paused his performance \u201cthree times\u201d to ask what had happened. \u201cHe asked for everybody in the area to go help them and bring them to the front,\u201d a second insider told Us<\/em> at the tim<\/span>e<\/span>. \u201cAs soon as they were made aware of what was happening, they ended the performance in the interest of public safety.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Scott later addressed the tragedy in a lengthy December 2021 YouTube discussion<\/a> with Charlamagne tha God<\/strong><\/a>, claiming he \u201cdidn\u2019t know the exact details [of the incident] until minutes before the press conference [after my set].\u201d He also claimed he was unaware of the nature of the attendees\u2019\u00a0 injuries because he couldn\u2019t see the entire crowd from the stage.<\/span> \u201cAnd even at that moment, you\u2019re like, \u2018Wait, what?\u2019 People pass out, things happen at concerts, but something like that,\u201d he continued. \u201cIt\u2019s so crazy because I\u2019m that artist too \u2014 anytime you can hear something like that, you want to stop the show. You want to make sure fans get the proper attention they need<\/a>. Anytime I could see anything like that, I did. I stopped it a couple times to just make sure everybody was OK. And I really just go off the fans\u2019 energy as a collective \u2014 call and response. I just didn\u2019t hear that. You can only help what you can see and whatever you\u2019re told, whenever they tell you to stop, you stop.\u201d<\/span> Scott, who shares daughter Stormi, 5, and son Aire, 18 months, with ex-girlfriend Kylie Jenner<\/a>,<\/strong> also revealed that the incident catapulted him onto an \u201cemotional roller coaster.\u201d<\/span> \u201cIt gets so hard because, you know, I always feel so emotionally connected to my fans,\u201d he explained in the YouTube clip. \u201cI went through something and I feel like fans went through something and people\u2019s parents went through something. It really hurts, it hurts the community, it hurts the city. It\u2019s just been a lot of thoughts and a lot of feelings<\/a> about, and a lot of grieving and just trying to wrap my head around it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
