But did you think that they called him uncle?<\/p>\n Apparently, they didn\u2019t \u2013 not according to star Jodie Sweetin<\/strong><\/a>, who revealed the misconception on her new rewatch podcast with Andrea Barber<\/strong><\/a>, How Rude, Tanneritos!<\/a><\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n While chatting with Andrea<\/strong>, Jodie <\/strong>set the record straight about Joey, who lived with the Tanners in their home, to help Danny raise the girls following the untimely passing of their mother when they were young.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s not an uncle. I\u2019m gonna debate this fact, because people always say, \u2018Oh, what about Uncle Joey?\u2019 And I\u2019m the first to [say], \u2018Like, actually, he\u2019s not an uncle.\u2019 And we never called him \u2018Uncle Joey,\u2019\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n While yes, Joey does hold that honorary uncle status to them, they never actually called him uncle\u2026not until their children in the spinoff Fuller House<\/em> did.<\/p>\n \u201cThe younger kids, I think, started calling him \u2018Uncle Joey\u2019 [on Fuller House<\/em>]. Because I remember having this discussion and being like, \u2018But he\u2019s not an uncle,\u2019\u201d Jodie <\/strong>stated. \u201cMaybe it\u2019s one of those, you know, by association he\u2019s become an uncle over time. I\u2019m not saying he can\u2019t be. I\u2019m not saying I am opposed to his membership as an honorary uncle. I\u2019m just saying I don\u2019t think we ever called him \u2018Uncle Joey.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n The Uncle Joey phenom is just one of many Mandela Effects on television.<\/p>\n Other examples include the \u201cBeam me up, Scotty\u201d catchphrase, which never appeared on any Star Trek<\/em> show ever; and The Matrix<\/em>\u2018s \u201cWhat if I told you\u2026\u201d line (The actual line is \u201cDo you want to know what it is?\u201d).<\/p>\n \n
