Celine Dion<\/strong><\/a> and her loved ones have offered health updates amid her battle with stiff-person syndrome.<\/p>\n Dion revealed in December 2022 that she had to postpone several performances due to the health scare<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cHello, everyone. I\u2019m sorry it\u2019s taken me so long to reach out to you. I miss you all so much and I can\u2019t wait to be on stage talking to you in person. As you know, I\u2019ve always been an open book and I wasn\u2019t ready to say anything before, but I\u2019m ready now,\u201d an emotional Dion said in an Instagram video at the time. \u201cI\u2019ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time and it\u2019s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I\u2019ve been going through.\u201d<\/p>\n That same month, a source told Us Weekly<\/em> that Dion had the support of her family amid the diagnosis. (Dion shared sons Ren\u00e9-Charles and twins Nelson and Eddy<\/a> with late husband Ren\u00e9 Ang\u00e9lil<\/a>. He died of throat cancer at age 73 in January 2016.)<\/p>\n \u201cHer kids have been her rock \u2026 the twins are very mature for their age and Ren\u00e9-Charles checks in and dotes on his mom all the time,\u201d the insider shared. \u201cCeline received this diagnosis fairly recently; she\u2019s been suffering the symptoms for quite some time, but it always baffled her what was wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n The source said that Dion was focused on getting better<\/a> adding, \u201cIt came as a shock, but she\u2019s lost none of her fighting spirit and is comforted that at least she knows exactly what she\u2019s dealing with now and there\u2019s comfort that she can alleviate some of the symptoms by getting treatments that are specific for this condition.\u201d<\/p>\n According to the Mayo Clinic, stiff-person syndrome is a rare disorder of motor function characterized by involuntary stiffness of axial muscles and superimposed painful muscle spasms, which are often induced by startle or emotional stimuli.<\/p>\n Scroll down for everything Dion and her family have shared about her health battle:<\/p>\n In December 2022, Dion said she had \u201cno choice but to concentrate\u201d on her health ahead of her career.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI have hope that I\u2019m on the road to recovery.
