The New Zealand\u2013born actress<\/span><\/a> was creator <\/span>Joss Whedon<\/b>\u2019s top pick to play vampire slayer Buffy\u2019s bestie, Willow, on the 1997 hit supernatural drama. \u201cIt was kind of a visa issue,\u201d the 46-year-old recently revealed, then added that her agent was pushing her movie career. \u201cI had a very oldschool agent who was like, \u2018TV? That\u2019s for has-beens!\u2019\u201d In the end, <\/span>Alyson Hannigan<\/b><\/a> wound up getting the role. Definitely no has-been, Melanie went on to score two Emmy nods for her work on Yellowjackets<\/em> and The Last Of Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n
