Lizzo<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s lawyer, Marty Singer<\/strong>, is firing back at one of the musician\u2019s former dancers accusing her of creating a hostile work environment.<\/p>\n Singer made his comments after TMZ<\/a> obtained a video of Arianna Davis<\/strong> \u2014 who is one of three women who filed a lawsuit<\/a> against Lizzo, 35, on Tuesday, August 1 \u2014 praising the \u201cTruth Hurts\u201d singer during an audition for season 2 of her show, Lizzo\u2019s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n According to the outlet, the audition tape \u2014 in which Davis stated that she \u201clook[s] up to [Lizzo] so much\u201d and wants to \u201cfollow in her footsteps\u201d \u2014 was filmed in April, after the alleged incidents described in the suit took place.<\/p>\n \u201cThese do not sound like the words of someone who was harassed or discriminated against by someone they described as \u2018THE QUEEN,\u2019\u201d Singer told TMZ on Thursday, August 3. \u201cThey say that a picture is worth a thousand words and here a video shows that there are no legitimate claims in this lawsuit<\/a>. We are confident that Lizzo will be completely vindicated in this matter.\u201d<\/p>\n After Davis\u2019 audition tape began circulating on Twitter, some social media users came to her defense.<\/p>\n \u201cDoes not sit right with me how her team is now dropping stuff like this to try and vilify the victims. Save it for the courtroom. This proves nothing except that, just like everyone else, she still needed a job to pay her bills,\u201d one Twitter user wrote.<\/p>\n Another chimed in: \u201cThis doesn\u2019t prove anything \ud83e\udd23. She was faking it for a bag \ud83e\udd23. This is what her lawyers came up with??? OH it\u2019s bad for Lizzo\ud83d\ude2d.\u201d<\/p>\n Lizzo, for her part, broke her silence<\/a> about the allegations \u2014 which include religious harassment, disability discrimination and sexual harassment \u2014 on Thursday. \u201cThese last few days have been gut wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing. My work ethic, morals and respectfulness have been questioned<\/a>. My character has been criticized,\u201d she wrote in a lengthy Instagram statement, calling the lawsuit\u2019s claims \u201cfalse\u201d and \u201ctoo outrageous not to be addressed.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cThese sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional. \u2026 I am not here to be looked at as a victim, but I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days. \u2026 I know what it feels like to be body shamed on a daily basis and I would absolutely never criticize or terminate an employee because of their weight.\u201d<\/p>\n After the \u201cAbout Damn Time\u201d musician shared her statement, Ron Zambrano<\/strong> \u2014 the attorney representing Lizzo\u2019s former dancers Davis, Crystal Williams<\/strong> and Noelle Rodriguez<\/strong> \u2014 reacted via a statement to Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cLizzo has failed her own brand and has let down her fans. Her denial of this reprehensible behavior only adds to our clients\u2019 emotional distress,\u201d Zambrano\u2019s statement began. \u201cThe dismissive comments and utter lack of empathy are quite telling about her character and only serve to minimize the trauma she has caused the plaintiffs and other employees who have now come forward<\/a> sharing their own negative experiences. While Lizzo notes it was never her intention \u2018to make anyone feel uncomfortable,\u2019 that is exactly what she did to the point of demoralizing her dancers and flagrantly violating the law.\u201d<\/p>\n
