\nThe UFC fighter, 35, was joined by the singer for his ring walk at UFC 189 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas when he first became world champion, with the promotion breaking with tradition to allow live performances for the main event.<\/p>\n
\nHe initialled tweeted about Sin\u00e9ad\u2019s passing aged 56 in London on 26 July after she moved to the city from her native Ireland: \u201cWhat a woman! Rest in Peace, Sin\u00e9ad.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nConor has also posted a longer post that said: \u201cThe world has lost an artist with the voice of an Angel. Ireland has lost an iconic voice and one of our absolute finest, by a long shot. And I have lost a friend. Sin\u00e9ad\u2019s music will live on and continue to inspire! Rest In Peace, Sin\u00e9ad you are home with your son I am sure.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nIn a separate message on Twitter, he added: \u201cGod rest our beautiful Irish Angel Sin\u00e9ad\u2019s soul.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nIn a previous Instagram post written during Covid, Conor declared he would \u201cdie\u201d for the late singer.<\/p>\n
\nHe told her in a message: \u201cEmotional to say the least. Quick shout to Sin\u00e9ad O\u2019Connor, I would die for you Sin\u00e9ad and I f-ing mean it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAhead of his fight at UFC 189, the Irishman told reporters: \u201cI love Sin\u00e9ad O\u2019Connor \u2013 I\u2019m a big fan of Sin\u00e9ad. She is a passionate woman, her voice is\u2026 she has a beautiful voice and it\u2019s eerily symbolic of war.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo for as long as my career I\u2019ve been coming out to Sin\u00e9ad and now we get to do it live, so it\u2019s going to be a phenomenal occasion.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nUFC president Dana White had never previously and hasn\u2019t live performances at fights, which made Sin\u00e9ad\u2019s rendition of \u2018The Foggy Dew\u2019 ahead of his clash all the more remarkable.<\/p>\n
\nThe singer\u2019s family announced her death in a statement that said: \u201cIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sin\u00e9ad.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHer family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
