Keke Palmer<\/strong><\/a> doesn\u2019t want other people to compare their bodies to hers<\/a> \u2014 and she broke down why.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is my job. Let\u2019s not get crazy \u2014 I don\u2019t want people thinking that I am setting unrealistic standards. I can afford a trainer, meal prep and a lot of things,\u201d the actress, 29, explained on the Tuesday, August 1, episode of her \u201cBaby, This is Keke Palmer\u201d podcast<\/a>. \u201cIt is expensive but I am investing in my career because it is my career to look good. Not even is it my career to look good, it is my career choice to have the kind of career that I want to have.\u201d<\/p>\n Palmer reiterated that it was her \u201cpersonal choice\u201d to invest in her wellness journey.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI never want to put it on anybody,\u201d she shared. \u201cI always want to make it clear that when I am talking about fitness, health and wellness is that, \u2018Your journey is your journey. You figure it out the way you can.\u2019 And when you look at these celebrities and people in the industry, know that it is their job.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier in the episode, Palmer said her view of her body changed since welcoming her son<\/a>, adding, \u201cIt\u2019s interesting \u2014 after the baby \u2014 to see all the extra stuff I have to work with and how much my fear of having extra weight actually became a strength as it pertained to weight training and working out.\u201d<\/p>\n Palmer became a mother when she welcomed son Leodis with Darius Jackson<\/strong><\/a> in February. The Nope<\/em> actress discussed how her outlook has changed since her baby boy\u2019s arrival.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter having my baby, I\u2019ve just gotten so much more powerful. I\u2019m just so strengthened in a crazy way. Strutting my stuff, enjoying,\u201d she said in an interview with The Cut<\/em> last month, which was published shortly after Jackson, 29, mom-shamed Palmer for an outfit she wore<\/a> at an Usher<\/strong><\/a> concert. \u201cI\u2019ll be honest, I think before I even had the baby, I was really actually quite self-conscious.\u201d<\/p>\n Palmer went on to share how she was always \u201ctrying to be on point\u201d with her physical appearance before motherhood<\/a>. \u201cBeing slim and being fit in a particular way was always something that I was gunning for,\u201d she noted. \u201cAfter having the baby, my body got so much bigger and I started getting fluff in areas I never had before.\u201d<\/p>\n Since welcoming her son, Palmer has remained committed to embracing her body exactly the way it is. \u201cIf there\u2019s one person on this earth that loves [me] for sure, it\u2019s that baby,\u201d she concluded. \u201c[I\u2019m] happy, because there\u2019s no love like it. Somebody loving you like that, hell, who cares [what I look like]?\u201d<\/p>\n
