Sky High<\/em> flew under the radar when it was released in 2005 \u2014 but fans are still talking about the school for superheroes<\/a>\u00a0decades later.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was fun. It was so much fun. To find a film that everyone can love,\u201d the late Kelly Preston<\/a>, who died in July 2020<\/a>, told E! News<\/a> in 2005. \u201cReminds you of those old great Disney films.\u201d<\/p>\n In the action comedy, Michael Angarano<\/strong><\/a> plays Will Stronghold, the son of superheroes the Commander (Kurt Russell<\/strong><\/a>) and Jetstream (Preston). Upon his arrival at Sky High, Will doesn\u2019t appear to be as \u201csuper\u201d as his parents, which lands him in sidekick classes. However, he quickly learns that the sidekicks are just as important as the school\u2019s heroes.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s completely refreshing,\u201d Angarano told E! News in 2005. \u201cThere is that romanticism and superhero aspect<\/a> of it, but You take all of that out and you have, like, a John Hughes<\/a> high school movie that really works.\u201d<\/p>\n Danielle Panabaker<\/strong><\/a>, who plays Will\u2019s childhood BFF, echoed her costar\u2019s sentiment. \u201cIt\u2019s so relatable. These guys are going through the angst of being in high school,\u201d she told the outlet. \u201cAnd then they\u2019re set in this fantastic superhero world.\u201d<\/p>\n
