Drew\u00a0Barrymore<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0made a surprising \u2014 and solid \u2014 defense for one of Carrie Bradshaw\u2019s exes while filming her appearance on And Just Like That<\/em><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In a now-infamous season 6 episode of Sex and the City<\/em><\/a>, which aired back in 2003, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker<\/strong><\/a>) is broken up with via\u00a0Post-It\u00a0note from then-boyfriend Jack Berger (Ron Livingston<\/strong><\/a>). The message, which is left on her pillowcase, reads, \u201cI\u2019m sorry. I can\u2019t. Don\u2019t hate me.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The\u00a0short and sweet\u00a0<\/b>way of calling it quits instantly made Berger one of the show\u2019s most\u00a0loathed former flames. However, when\u00a0Barrymore, 48, arrived on the set of the SATC<\/em> spinoff for a cameo nearly 25 years later, she made an argument as to why Berger maybe had it right all along.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n During the Thursday, July 27, episode of the \u201cAnd Just Like That \u2026 The Writer\u2019s Room<\/a>\u201d podcast, showrunner Michael Patrick King<\/strong> revealed that\u00a0Barrymore, who played herself on the July 27 episode\u00a0of the Max series, stepped on set and immediately asked, \u201cCan I just say one thing?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cEverybody looked at her and she said, \u2018Maybe Berger had it right. If you\u2019re gonna break up with someone, just say,\u00a0\u2018I\u2019m sorry, I can\u2019t. Don\u2019t hate me. Don\u2019t drag them through weeks of indecision,\u2019\u201d he\u00a0recalled.\u00a0\u201cShe was like, \u201cI just want to say, as painful as it was, maybe Berger was an emoji.’\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n King \u2014 who called\u00a0Barrymore\u00a0\u201cso much fun\u201d and a SATC<\/em> franchise \u201csuperfan\u201d \u2014 noted that the talk show host even went as far to suggest there should be a Post-It emoji quoting Berger \u201cthat people could just send\u201d when they want to split from their partner \u2014 but don\u2019t want to drag out the process or ghost.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n While Berger\u2019s actions may still be up for debate, he isn\u2019t the only man from Carrie\u2019s past that\u2019s part of the conversation. John Corbett<\/strong> <\/a>reprised his SATC<\/em> character, Aidan Shaw, during the July 27 episode of AJLT<\/em><\/a> \u2014 and wasted no time asking his former fianc\u00e9e out on a date for Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Carrie and Aidan first got together in season 3 of SATC<\/em> before she cheated on him with Mr. Big (Chris Noth<\/strong><\/a>). Although they rekindled their romance the following season, they later called off their engagement due to Carrie\u2019s apprehension about marriage.
