Selena Gomez<\/strong><\/a> seemingly clapped back at trolls criticizing her body after the 2023 Golden Globes.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays,\u201d the Only Murders in the Building<\/em> star, 30, said during an Instagram Live<\/a> on Tuesday, January 10.<\/p>\n \u201cI mean, come on, right?\u201d Gomez asked her date<\/a>, little sister Gracie, 9.<\/p>\n \u201cYeah,\u201d Gracie said.<\/p>\n The Rare Beauty star seemingly said, \u201cBut we don\u2019t care\u201d as Miley Cyrus<\/strong><\/a>\u2018 song \u201cDo My Thang\u201d started blasting in the car.<\/p>\n The sisters had a glamorous night out at the Golden Globes, where the former Disney Channel star was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV series. Only Murders in the Building<\/em> <\/a>was up for Best Musical or Comedy TV Show. Her costars, Martin Short<\/strong><\/a> and Steve Martin<\/strong><\/a>, also received individual nods. They lost to Abbott Elementary<\/em><\/a> and the ABC sitcom\u2019s stars in all categories.<\/p>\n Gomez wore a dark purple, velvet Valentino dress<\/a> from the label\u2019s winter 2022 couture collection. The strapless gown featured a silky, oversized purple sleeves. She topped off the look with earrings and rings from De Beers. Meanwhile, her sibling wore a sparkly, champagne-colored frock with matching shoes and handbag.<\/p>\n Though she didn\u2019t let the body-shamers stop her from having a good time, the Texas native has been honest about how difficult it is to hear criticism of her looks. While speaking with her pal Raquelle Stevens<\/strong><\/a> on the Giving Back Generation podcast in September 2019, the Rare Beauty founder explained that her weight often fluctuates<\/a> as a result of her lupus treatment.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s the medication I have to take for the rest of my life \u2014 it depends on even the month, to be honest. So for me, I really noticed when people started attacking me for that,\u201d she said at the time. \u201cAnd in reality, that\u2019s just my truth. I fluctuate. It depends what\u2019s happening in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n Negative comments, in part, drove her away from Instagram. \u201cI felt like my thoughts and everything I was consuming revolved around a million different other people in the world saying good things and bad things. And I just thought, \u2018Why would I \u2014 I don\u2019t get anything from it.
