Once you see it, you can switch between \u201cFollowing,\u201d which shows posts in reverse-chronological order, and \u201cFor You,\u201d which is the algorithmically sorted feed the app has offered since launch.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">But a few of us at <em>The Verge<\/em> noticed that Threads will occasionally rehide the Following feed and bring you back to the For You feed after you open the app. (You can test it for yourself by force closing and reopening the app.) Unfortunately, it sounds like that\u2019s by design, based on a statement from Meta.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">\u201cFor You is the default experience when you open the Threads app,\u201d Meta spokesperson Seine Kim tells <em>The Verge<\/em>. Although, given that Instagram boss Adam Mosseri has said that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/7\/7\/23787334\/instagram-threads-news-politics-adam-mosseri-meta-facebook\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Threads isn\u2019t for news and politics<\/a>, this For You \/ Following behavior perhaps shouldn\u2019t come as a surprise.
