And Just Like That<\/em> star Bobby Lee<\/strong> opened up about how his experience filming with Sarah Jessica Parker<\/strong><\/a> led to him becoming sober.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I was using \u2026 this is the most horrifying thing \u2026 I was in Hawaii and I was blackout drunk and my agent calls and said \u2018They need you in New York,\u2019\u201d Lee, 51, said on a Monday, July 24, episode of Rachel Bilson\u2019s<\/strong> <\/a>\u201cBroad Ideas\u201d podcast<\/a>. \u201cThis is one of the reasons why I\u2019m sober \u2026 I remember going [to set on And Just Like That<\/em>] and being so high and drunk and when I was reading the script I couldn\u2019t even understand what they were saying.\u201d<\/p>\n Lee \u2014 who has now been sober for a year and a half \u2014 added: \u201cIt was a nightmare. I remember saying this is never going to happen again. \u2026 It\u2019s insane how our disease gets, you know. That could\u2019ve been a career ender.\u201d<\/p>\n When Bilson, 41, asked if Parker, 58, knew something was going on while they were filming, Lee responded, \u201cNo \u2026 she was leaving to France the next day so I had to [keep filming.]\u201d<\/p>\n Lee stars as Jackie, a friend of Carrie\u2019s on the Sex in the City<\/em> <\/a>spinoff, and he appears on both seasons of the show. The second season of AJLT<\/em> debuted in June, with new episodes airing Thursdays on Max. In addition to newer characters like Jackie, there will be more familiar faces with John Corbett<\/strong><\/a> due to return as Carrie\u2019s former flame Aidan Shaw as well as Kim Cattrall<\/strong><\/a> set to reprise her role as Samantha Jones for one episode.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was, I think, a really nice idea to celebrate our 25th anniversary, to have this surprise appearance [of Samantha],\u201d Parker said in a June interview with Good Morning America<\/em><\/a> at the time. \u201cAnd at least the content of it is still thus far a secret.\u201d<\/p>\n In 2022, Parker previously told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> that Cattrall, 66, hadn\u2019t been in talks to join the cast prior to its December 2021 premiere.<\/p>\n \u201cWe did not ask her to be [a] part of this because she made it clear that wasn\u2019t something she wanted to pursue, and it no longer felt comfortable for us, and so it didn\u2019t occur to us,\u201d she explained at the time. \u201cYou\u2019ve got to listen to somebody, and if they\u2019re publicly talking about something and it doesn\u2019t suggest it\u2019s someplace they want to be, or a person they want to play, or an environment in which they want to be, you get to an age where you\u2019re like, \u2018Well, we hear that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Despite her supposed feud with Parker, Cattrall announced in June 2023 that she would have a cameo<\/a> in season 2 even though she didn\u2019t appear in the show\u2019s first season.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, \u2018What can we do?\u2019\u201d Cattrall revealed on an appearance on The View<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAnd I went, \u201cHmmm\u2026let me get creative. I just thought, if I\u2019m going to come back, I got to come back with that kind of Samantha style. I got to push it.
