Twitter is transforming into X, as the site\u2019s former bird logo has now been replaced by an official new X logo. Elon Musk, who owns the transformed social media site, began signaling the change<\/a> early Sunday morning with a series of tweets, starting with one that said, \u201cand soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Now X has replaced the Twitter logo on the web version, signaling a change to Musk\u2019s \u201ceverything app\u201d that he originally envisioned<\/a> shortly after purchasing Twitter for $44 billion<\/a> in November. The X logo will presumably replace the bird logo in mobile versions of the apps once they\u2019re updated. References to Twitter still remain on the main web login prompt, though.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Twitter employees were reportedly informed of the change with an email that closed with a statement that it would be the last Musk email to come from the Twitter.com<\/a> domain. During the tweetfest, Musk also tweeted<\/a> that if a \u201cgood enough one is posted tonight, we\u2019ll make go live worldwide tomorrow,\u201d and later pinned a tweet<\/a> featuring a GIF created by a twitter user named Sawyer Merritt.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
