The 47-year-old actor obsessively lost weight to play the part of the father of the atomic bomb, J Robert Oppenheimer, in Christopher Nolan<\/a>\u2019s epic biopic on hre scientist\u2019s life, and is seen bedding Florence\u2019s real-life psychiatrist character in the film.<\/p>\n

Cillian told the Sydney Morning Herald about how his on-screen romps with the 27-year-old actress are so \u201cf****** powerful\u201d: \u201cThose scenes were written deliberately. (Christopher) knew that those scenes would get the movie the rating that it got.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I think when you see it, it\u2019s so f****** powerful. And they\u2019re not gratuitous. They\u2019re perfect. And Florence is just amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Florence plays Communist Party member Jean Tatlock in the film, which also shows Oppenheimer\u2019s marriage to wife Katherine \u2018Kitty\u2019 Oppenheimer, played by Emily Blunt, 40.<\/p>\n

\nThe sex scenes have earned the movie a 15 rating in cinemas due to what censors have called \u201cinfrequent nudity and sexual content\u201d.<\/p>\n

\n\u2018Peaky Blinders\u2019 star Cillian \u2013 who has two sons with his wife Yvonne McGuinness, 50, who he married in 2004 \u2013 added about \u2018Midsommar\u2019 actress Florence: \u201cI have loved Florence\u2019s work since Lady Macbeth and I think she\u2019s f****** phenomenal.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cShe has this presence as a person and on screen that is staggering. The impact she has (in \u2018Oppenheimer\u2019) for the size of the role, it\u2019s quite devastating.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nDirector Christopher, 52, has admitted he was \u201cappropriately nervous\u201d and \u201cappropriately careful\u201d while making \u2018Oppenheimer\u2019, which saw his first effort at shooting sex scenes.<\/p>\n

\nHe told Insider: \u201cAny time you\u2019re challenging yourself to work in areas you haven\u2019t worked in before, you should be appropriately nervous and appropriately careful and planned and prepared.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWhen you look at Oppenheimer\u2019s life and you look at his story, that aspect of his life, the aspect of his sexuality, his way with women, the charm that he exuded, it\u2019s an essential part of his story.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
