Mandy Moore<\/a><\/strong> says some of her paychecks for her role on This Is Us<\/a><\/strong><\/em> after it went to a streaming platform were for literally less than $1.<\/p>\n

On July 18, 2023, she picked up her protest sign and headed to the picket line as a member of the American actors\u2019 union, Screen Actors Guild \u2014 American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).<\/p>\n

Moore has claimed she received residual cheques as low as 81 cents, despite the NBC series now being streamed on Hulu.<\/p>\n

The actor played the role of Rebecca Pearson in the series and, according to IMDb, appeared in 106 episodes of the six seasons that ran from 2016-2022.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/em> caught up with Mandy Moore, who was Emmy-nominated for This is Us, on the Disney picket line in Burbank, California. She had some things to say, namely that she\u2019s received residual checks that were comically low: \u201cvery tiny, like 81-cent checks.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s nothing. \u201cI was talking with my business manager who said he\u2019s received a residual for a penny and two pennies,\u201d Moore added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe residual issue is a huge issue,\u201d Moore said. \u201cWe\u2019re in incredibly fortunate positions as working actors having been on shows that found tremendous success in one way or another \u2026 but many actors in our position for years before us were able to live off of residuals or at least pay their bills.\u201d<\/p>\n
