The \u2018Oppenheimer\u2019 director, 52, whose blockbusters include \u2018The Dark Night Trilogy\u2019 as well as \u2018Interstellar\u2019 and \u2018Dunkirk\u2019 has previously been in talks with Bond producers, and has now said he would be willing to make one of the spy movies if it felt like the \u201cright moment\u201d creatively.<\/p>\n

He told the \u2018Happy Sad Confused\u2019 podcast with Josh Horowitz: \u201cIt would be an amazing privilege to do one. It has to be the right moment in your creative life where you can express what you want to express. <\/p>\n

\u201cI love those movies. The influence of those movies on my filmography is embarrassingly apparent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Host Josh, 47, asked Christopher: \u201cI would imagine you\u2019d want to be involved in casting your Bond?\u201d \u2013 with the filmmaker replying: \u201cYou wouldn\u2019t want to take on a film not fully committed to what you could bring to the table creatively.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cSo as a writer, casting director, everything \u2013 it\u2019s the full package.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nDaniel Craig, 55, stepped down as Bond after 2021\u2019s \u2018No Time to Die\u2019 and there has been rabid speculation since its release about who is going to be the new 007.<\/p>\n

\nSoe of Christopher\u2019s favourite stars \u2013 including \u2018Oppenheimer\u2019 lead man Cillian Murphy, 47, and \u2018The Dark Knight Rises\u2019 star Tom Hardy, 45, have been named as bookies\u2019 top picks to step into the part \u2013 along with the latest Batman star Robert Pattinson, 37, who featured in Christopher\u2019s mind-bending time travel film \u2018Tenet\u2019.<\/p>\n

\nChristopher was approached to make the next 007 film following the release of \u2018Skyfall\u2019, but the follow-up \u2018Spectre\u2019 ended up being directed by 57-year-old \u2018American Beauty\u2019 filmmaker Sam Mendes. <\/p>\n

\nTwo years after the 2015 film, Christopher revealed he could \u201cmaybe one day\u201d get involved in the franchise.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
